Yep, start from the beginning. And if you are familiar with the old series, there are a lot of nods and tweaks that should thrill you. And some that leave you headscratching. But yes, the miniseries alone blew me away in comparison to the pilot episode/movie of the original. The tension is so much better. It's just the look, not that characters themselves. From what I've seen, they are very naughty villians indeed. I think technological advances and better budgets also helped the new series look good. The guys dressed in tin cans can't compete with the digital bad-asses...plus they have a heap more variety in the 'ship shots' - BSG the original kept repeating their SPFX to death (and there was more than a passing nod to Star Wars, for which the new BSG has no resemblance!) True, but there were some classic episodes, such as (which does sound like camp) when the guy who may have been the Devil or something came to visit. And some of the bits with the Ship of Lights. I've heard they brought the Pegasus back (though I haven't gotten to that yet), so I wonder if the Ship of Lights will come back.
