IMHO, nothing stands or is taken until the rules for 3.0 are posted.

So there.

Still, people don't want to make plans and then find someone else has got there first...

I believe I already stated that if the rules remain constant to 1.0 and 2.0, that I wish to retain the two domains I started with, Air and Light. But I will await the rules before creating (or rejuvenating, if that is possible) a deity or setting that in stone.

uKulwa is the God of War.

I might be interested in switching to Death if Vrees only takes fear. Will see how the rules pan out. *muttered impatiently*

Most of us are chill as long as we're not all sniping each other. Like, I already asked Jove if I could have Weather for 3.0, and she was fine with it.

And besides, nothing is set in stone, so this is really to put your ideas out in the open so we can get a good idea of what it might look like.

Sokath! His eyes uncovered!

I'm interested in something along the lines of Death and Dispair.

I don't want to lay claim to anything just yet because the way that P2 plays out will affect my claim/lack of claim in P3...but if things go as planned it may still be the seas, but if someone else is after that, I may have room to manouvre/negotiate.

Something not exactly rule-related but still relevant occured to me. I would like the next pantheon game to use a map that is on a larger scale than the current one--something a little more... epic. P2 map was a big improvement on the small, one-landmass map P1 used, but it still never felt like a whole world. I think with the number of players and such the next game should take it to the next level of scale, maybe even doubling the area--giving us room to play, you could say.

Now that I've brought the subject to mind, something further is occuring to me. I feel that, in P2, it took very little time at all for the land of Eiran to be quickly divided up between the gods, with nary a dispute over controlled regions. I'd like to see more opportunity for gods to vie for influence in the lands, to strive to gain ascendancy in a particular region. The idea of constructing settlements--providing, instantly, a location fully loyal to yourself--seems somehow an over-simple method of such. To that end, perhaps some refinements to that aspect of the system--control of territory, as opposed to individual persons--could be devised. I'm at a loss to think of any specific examples of how this might be achieved, however.

I'm still amazed more dieties didn't come be contentious over land in Immeril once it opened up.

...Nor Yekith aside...

Yeah, a much more detailed map would be awesome. Of course, that means lots more work for Xar, so it's a little difficult to demand it. Heh.

As for the division of lands... Well, any of us could try to move into another's established area. No law against it. And there's certainly plenty of people in all of our areas that do not worship the established deity, or any other. But we don't do it unless we want a fight on our hands. I think that system is fine.

I'm thinking - this is just an embryonic idea, though - that next time, the map areas could also be given different "values" - for example, there might be areas rich in minerals, or very fertile lands, and so on. This way, deities could fight over a particularly important land, depending on their needs. I'm not sure how much this will be given weight in the game, though, since I have to see how cumbersome it would be for me to keep track of it in addition to everything else. Nevertheless, it is an idea worth mentioning, I think.

I wouldn't mind some sort of value being given to areas, whether resources or strategic or whatever. However, since money seems to make no difference (except maybe to your population?) I'm not sure of any advantage save giving us something else to worry about.

(Welcome back btw. :D )

The idea would be more along the lines of making your people happy... obviously, depending on the race, worshipers prefer some areas instead of others: for instance, centaurs would be hard-pressed to enjoy mountain peaks, while perhaps dwarrows would love mineral-rich areas. Therefore, ensuring your worshipers get an area they like would improve their happiness and fertility, and in turn this would boost the god's power. After all, why should one be faithful to one's god if one lives in the worst possible environment, and his prayers to the god do not avail him anything?

Makes sense. Certain areas boost population because they suit worshippers better. :D

That actually would have been a great idea for P2, from my point of view.

A god or goddess of commerce could have a lot of fun with that idea.

Xar, I noticed you said centaurs. Are we allowed to have different mythological creatures as our followers?
