-We dress as we dress. If anything influences that, it is the preferences of our women. And they seem to like our short robes.

Haruchai arent wired for making use of their emotions
You two might be interested in reading these books I know called
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever.
As for grinning, and most other facial expressions and body language that help convey emotion, races that communicate telepathically often do not develop these things. There is no need.
As much as
Haruchai are able, I regret that we are so rigid as to make us less desirable as travelling companions. As I just said elsewhere, the idea is intriguing. But some have valued our presence
because of our inflexibility. Which is nothing but an expression of the purity of our beliefs. I hope you can become one of them.

i'd be interested in hearing what that is about??

lol .. are you suggesting an exhaust type genetic modification for release of all that pent up hot air???

lol

mmm .. an intriguing suggestion

.. so are you suggesting haruchai have ..

.. and .. lol .. use their emotions to a designated end .. as a general rule??
I always had the opinion that they were as you say 'rigid' .. folk

Our passion is our defining characteristic. To a "designated end" no. Our intense passions, combined with our innocence in certain areas, sometimes hit us so strongly that we have been known to act in extravagant ways before thoroughly considering the consequences.
The inflexibility is due to the fact that we feel SO strongly about things, and will not be swayed.

Hey, if you can't double your entendre, I'm not sure there's any point to conversation.

Tell whoever to bring his wife or girlfriend. We can't have any brawn fixation going on. (Brawn fixation is where you think that all women want you, therefore you should act appropriately according to that.)
F&F wrote:-No genetic engineering will be performed on us with our approval. We suffice as we are. (But what do you mean about the ventilation?)
I mean, when you act up on my ship, you have to find the com unit in the vents. No one has found it yet. If one of your people finds it, then more power to him!
Paragraph 5, subparagraph 12, clearly states that no genetic engineering will take place on an unwilling subject. If you don't abide by that law, you have to put up with a chip in your neck for 3 years. Just ask Jensen! He'll tell ya!

Read 'em all. They were quite enjoyable.

Oh, telepaths. I'd forgotten about that. Well, at least Dhralar will have someone else to talk to.

Have you met Martin? Rigidness incarnate. I'm sure your people wouldn't mind. If nothing else, for the pure fun of traveling in space.

That's a really good trait!

Keep it, it'll come in handy.

"Brawn fixation" is not an issue with the
Haruchai.
Maegan Galintha wrote:I mean, when you act up on my ship, you have to find the com unit in the vents. No one has found it yet.
Confusing. So then there is no communication on your ship other than when two are in the same room?
Anyway, see your "identity change" thread.

I've seen it. It's very nice.
The com unit in the vents. We have com units everywhere, all over the fregmekking ship. There's one in the vents, in case of emergency. Dunno why Roke insisted on 'em there. The things are big enough for a person to walk in.

Yes, we can talk to each other wherever we are on the ship.
F&F wrote:"Brawn fixation" is not an issue with the Haruchai.
Good for them then! The commander will be glad to hear that there's a species that isn't susceptable to that.

Wicked Santa of the South, huh? Guess us Americans are watched over by the Nuetral Santa of the West. He doesn't care what anyone wants.

Actually the United States is protected by the Capitalist Crusader. An obese middle-aged white man who drives around in a Lincoln Navigator aspiring to bring a free market economy to our poor little brown brothers of Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
