Its a perfectly fair question. If people have to work for the answer then so be it. A little work is good for the soul. What comes easy is taken for granted.

Alrighty then.

Beorn will be pleased.

*stating I am putting a blanket disqualification for me on answering any of Beorns questions, as I suspect he and I would have discussed them already*

I think it a fair question.

Give me some time maybe I'll have an answer!

How many chapters is there in the entire series which Harry has absolutely no part in, whether in person or via dreams/visions?
Eight, isn't it? The first chapter of every book, save The Half Blood Prince in which he is not present in the first two chapters.

Beorn won't be home until later, and then he has homework. Do you want to wait, or shall I answer for him?

If you can answer then please do, otherwise we can't keep playing.

Zahir is not correct. Looking just at SS/PS alone. Harry appears in the first chapter as a year old toddler.

Again the question is in how many chapters does Harry have no part in, whether in person or via dreams/visions. To clarify, Beorn means in which Harry does not appear in any way, or can "see" what happens via a dream/vision. I can tell that wasn't clearly stated.

Does it count if he is mentioned by one of the people in the chapter?

No.

Harry being talked about by others is fine; after all, the focus of the books are (is?) about him. Beorn just was surprised the very first time he came across a chapter that Harry himself was in no way involved in, either in person or via a dream/vision. So he kept track after that.

Then the answer would be three, wouldn't it? "The Other Minister" and "Spinner's End" from Half Blood Prince and "Dark Lord Ascending" from Deathly Hallows.

Sorry, no, not if you are using all of the same chapters as before. However, some of those chapters may qualify.

Going back to what you gave as your chapters, Harry appears in at least the first chapters of books 1-5. Even in book 4, Harry wakes up in the last line of the chapter, and it is revealed he saw the scene described in that chapter via a dream in the next one.

Beorn is looking for chapters of things that happened that Harry either was not physically there, or has no knowledge of happening. Does that help?

***edit***

Oh! You edited while I was writing!

Yes, that's it!! WTG Zahir. You're up.

Something about Hermione's OWLs always bugged me alot. If Harry got an outstanding in DADA and Hermione is second to him in that class, Why does Harry get an O and Hermione only an E? How tough is the scoring? I would think they would BOTH get O's. :?

O's? E's?...I havn't gotten that far yet.
