I love the term "cougars" -- I'd never heard it before. It fits several 50+ women I know. It's like the sexual revolution of the '60s ("sex any time I want it, no guilt!") collided with their '50s upbringing ("gotta have a man or I'm nobody!") just as their last divorce was final. Their desperation is palpable, enough so that it even makes *me* queasy, and I'm not even their type.

Some of these same women think I'm a chicken for opting out of dating -- like there's something wrong with me. But I like being single, and right now I'm too freakin' busy for a relationship anyhow. So, pfft.

I first heard the term cougar when watching Oceans 13 in the theaters earlier this year.

I've never felt so uncomfortable as late last year, when an older (she was in her late forties, I think) and very recently divorced coworker of mine (from a different department, but worked on the same floor) out of the blue gave me an exaggerated look up and down before pronouncing that I looked like Brett Favre. This dumbfounded me for several reasons:
1) I'm an engineer and am very unused to these types of comments.
2) It was creepy - for the first time in my life I felt like I had been ogled.
3) She knew I am happily married, and after that time made a couple comments to indicate that she could care less.
4) She was obviously smoking crack - because I don't look anything like Brett Favre.

I think this was cougar behavior. Thank God she has since left the company for another job. I don't know if it qualifies as sexual harassment or not, but it was definitely an unwanted and uncomfortable situation.

Not sure legally. It's *definitely* sexual harassment, because you felt uncomfortable at your job. But whether it fits the legal definition depends on whether she was your superior. I think. Don't quote me. In any case, you would have had grounds to take it to HR and have them talk to her. Thank goodness she left of her own volition.

I got yet another unwanted text message from a woman I haven't spoken to in nearly two months at 1am last night. Thank God she doesn't have my address, but I'm probably going to have to file a protective order against her next week.

Texting, emailing, and phone calls. I've asked her to stop, she hasn't (we're soul mates, dont'cha know).

I spent a total of 2 hours with this woman 2 months ago, and <wags finger> did not have sexual relations with that woman.

heh. Try the old flea flicker Cail. Ask her out, order offensive food, eat like a pig, burp, fart and drool, ogle the other women, drink like a fish, make lewd suggestions for after dinner, don't bring money to pay the check, etc, etc....then, keep calling and texting her at 4 am. She'll be gone before you know it, and you'll have at least one enjoyable evening pretending to be someone you're not.....trust me, it works.....
