Who has plans for Sukkot?

No plans to travel anywhere, if that's what you mean.
Beorn and I will celebrate at the Lubavitch Center and Hillel here in Gator Town, taking as many meals as we can in the Sukkah at each place. But, neither place strikes me as safe to sleep in, unless they hire security. I haven't seen that in years past though.

Let's get past the Days of Awe first.
Anyone baking their own round hallah this year?
Beorn really wants me to make one with chocolate chips. I'm thinking dipping that into the honey would be way too sweet. Even to bless the New Year...

Ooo, that reminds me though. I need to buy the orzo and craisins for the festive yontiff meal cold pasta salad.

Welcome back to the Watch! Please join in more often.

I haven't even thought as far ahead as Sukkot yet.
I expect to be home and in my own sukkah, though.

I've always wanted my own sukkah, but while I know the torah observant in cities manage to build one in their apartment buildings, the idea of petitioning my landl-rd to allow me to have one is distasteful to me. I'll use the ones at the various shuls here.

we will be camping in Oklahoma - a tent is what we use for a Sukkah - should be nice and cool.

Yes...the Days of Awe are nearly upon us. May it be that Hashem will write your name in the Book of Life.

Ooo...sounds fun!
Try to remember to sit outside and attune yourself to the starlight. The only caveat I have to the idea of using a tent as a sukkah is the solid roof overhead.

Ketiva ve-chatima tovah. :)

...oy vey...

We recently switched to a new laptop, as the one I had all of my recipes on stopped working. I thought we had managed to copy all of my recipes to this one, but I am not finding the orzo salad.

I just emailed the Lubavitch rebbitzen, asking her to resend the recipe to me. I'll post it in The Galley should I receive it on time.

We keep the rainfly off the tent unless we HAVE to have it. It IS a lot of fun and I get "recharged" spiritually.
