I'm going to amend the Watchaholic test to include:

- Do you ever find yourself having derailed a thread for pages and pages just to argue with the moderators?

Why should I bother? I just offer the mods a tasty, flame-broiled burger, because I'm sure that they only argue when they're hungry.

1. Do you post alone? Yes.

2. Do you make excuses to post? All the time.

3. Do you need to visit Kevin's Watch frequently in order to function? Essentially.

4. Are you unable to stop posting in Mallorys? I hate Mallory's. Sorry, heh.

5. Did you ever fight with someone on Kevin's Watch? Many times.

6. Do you post on Kevin's Watch secretly (as with another handle)? Never.

7. Do you become angry when people mention how many WGD you have? Naw.

8. Has it affected your work? I've sometimes used KW as an excuse to avoid homework. Okay, I've done that many times.

9. Do you worry more about how your avatar looks than yourself? I have to admit, my avatar is rather dashing, isn't he?

10. Do you experience trembling when you haven't posted? Don't worry about it.

I have an addition to the list of questions:

When you're typing an e-mail to someone, do you sometimes wish you could put in one of the KW smilies? (Not that I've ever done this... )

Not in e-mails, but definitely while chatting on AIM or on Facebook. Some of them work and the rest don't, and it's annoying to find out which in chat when you can't edit it out.

At one time I wished I could. Now I do put them in. Although to date I have not 'fessed up as to where I got them...

Calling up the search engine called "Dogpile" works just as well as a pr0n site for that...

...especially if said manager is a dog lover and has no idea what Dogpile is...

I was just kidding, Menolly. If anyone called up a pr0n site here at work they would be fired immediately. Actually, we recently had three people fired for passing along a "humorous" email that included a pr0nographic picture with it. (How that was funny I still do not want to know...)

However, "Dogpile" is a harmless search engine that was around before google (I think). At the time, it searched seven other search engines at once in one search. I made frequent use of it back in the day...

...until the day my manager, dog lover extraordinaire who never heard of it, saw it on my monitor...

Do you get secret enjoyment from watching the confusion on other peoples faces when you quote a Watcher using their online name?

I get this a lot at my house when I say something like "Luci said blah, blah, blah" or "Avatar was all, WHOA!"

What's *really* fun is talking to another Watcher on the phone about other Watchers, and switching back and forth between their real name and their Watch name, and both of you know you're talking about the same person.

Yeah. . . sometimes I do this with my friends, and they look at me as though I had an alien standing on my head doing circus tricks involving fire.

And it was pretty far-out to meet Watchers and try to associate names with usernames. I still find it hard to use real names instead of the usernames. I guess I am just a creature of habit.

Ask aTOMiC about the time our manager brought in the cute engineer Anita to see his Hooters girl screen saver to prove to the head engineer that it wasn't tasteless to have a screen saver of 19 women clad in nothing but their bikini bottoms, covering their rather large bosoms with their rather small hands......no wonder they laid off most of my department.

That seems harsh. Wouldn't a reprimand have been more appropriate? Or don't your employers believe in the idea of second chances? No, I'm not advocating that pr0n should become an everyday thing at the workplace (okay, it depends on what that workplace is, ahem). Just saying that the punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. But that's just me.
