I'm almost hoping it turns out to be bad, so I don't have to go out and buy the rest of the series, heh.
Macross Plus arrived today. A different friend always names it as his favourite anime, and it's a mere four episodes long, so should be a quick watch. I don't like having two series on the go at once, though, so it'll have to wait until after Wolf's Rain (however much of that I end up watching...)

Scrapped Princess is a good anime that seems like it belongs on the adult swim lineup (the old one atleast).
Vandread is a decent harem/ mecha anime mold that does not overdo the fanservice, and although generally cheesy with a nerve-grating main character, has a story I enjoyed watching (somewhat of a startrek rip).
before Evangelion wowed me, but now I just enjoy the blood and gore. the movie (alternate ending to the series) takes the cake for WTF?ism.
Hellsing manga > anime
I'm not seeing alot of Full Metal Alchemist love 'round here. the anime is a good watch, but the manga feels more fullfilling.
Noein is an odd one about junior high students drama and the war that their alternate universe adult forms are fighting. I consider it a good, original watch (although I have yet to finish it).
it warms my heart to see such trigun love.

I <3 FMA. It was the first anime series I ever owned.DLH wrote: I'm not seeing alot of Full Metal Alchemist love 'round here. the anime is a good watch, but the manga feels more fullfilling.

the internet is a glorious place. I don't suffer from it, but my friend says it strains his eyes to read online; maybe because he has glasses.
also, most of these are fansubbed. it has never particularly irked me until I tryed reading full metal alchemist online; I was too used to the official translator's style.

I do find my eyes start to struggle if a I read on a montior for too long. Still, reading manga isn't as intensive as reading a novel, so I should be ok.DLH wrote:the internet is a glorious place. On the subject of fansubs, I haven't read any fansubbed manga, but if it's varied in quality as fansubbed anime, I can see why it might sometimes trouble you. I've watched a couple of fansubs that were horrifically badly translated, to the point of frequently being unintelligible.
