Anyone from New Zealand around? Any idea when AATE hits our shores? Tragic irony that we are the first to see the official release date of anything but often the last to actually have access to it.

I searched for NZ release dates on Google. Every site I clicked on came up with a review, which I quickly shunned. Apart from preconceptions about quality, reviewers can be absolute numbskulls about how much plot info the give away.

As spoilers go, though, nothing trumps the horrible spoiler I ran into when I was first reading the 2nd Chronicles. This was around the time Runes of the Earth had just come out, and I, Covenant noob, was looking for the sequel to The Wounded Land. I see Runes of the Earth, think "Runes. Staff of Law. Must be this one." The very first sentence on the liner notes? "Thomas Covenant is dead." :hairs:

Cambo I am from NZ. I have no idea of the release date here. I would have thought it would be out for sale in NZ by the time of the British edition, as that is the version of Runes and Revenant that I see in the shops. I got frustrated waiting so I had to press the buy button and pre-order mine on Amazon months and months ago, it is in the mail!
The best thing would be to ask a shop, they might order copies if they haven't already, all good for SRD.

Wrong forum, but not a spoiler. I will spoilerize this quote because it might be against forum rules:

From AATE:
Spoiler
“All right,” Covenant muttered as if he were Linden.
See, even HE knows what you're talking about. :)

Got my copy today, thumped it down on the counter at Waterstones and the woman said "Would you like a signed copy?" 8O
...
wtf?
...
OK, so I do slightly haunt that branch of Waterstones, and all the staff probably recognise me (one woman on the top floor probably thinks 'restraining order' when she sees me  ).
Ok so it was a signature on a sticky lable, SRD has worse hand writing than me(!!) although it was probably his umpteen thousandth signature and he probably had an ice pack on his wrist.
Now to the reading. :read:

Thanks, yeah I shall do that, although if they're going to screw around I might have to follow your example and get it off Amazon. I want to re-read RotE and FR beforehand though so they have a bit of leeway...like a week.

I thought that said "sticky table" for a minute.

That doesn't sound like a signed copy to me. It sounds like a copy with a signed sticker attached to it.

Recieved an e mail 5 days ago saying my pre-orderd copy was on its way (from Waterstones). No sign of it yet! I'm getting angry. You won't like me when I'm ANGRY!

Just so long as you're still across the pond, get as angry as you want ;)

I'm in Australia, and we get the UK versions here.. It technically hit the shelp here on the 1st of november, though I found it available in a store near me on the 27th, so I bought it without delay..
Still, I have the whole of the 2nd Chrons to re-read, and then FR and ROTE..
But I have AATE and that is what's important.

Cambo, my Amazon copy arrived - but I see you have swifter local options at Fishpond.co.nz, mightyape.co.nz, and The Warehouse where it is available - and I suppose "any good bookstore" should have it.
