How often do people put spoilers in topic titles anyway?

Jay: Are you saying there is a certain level of spoilers-in-thread-topics that is acceptable?

Other readers: What do you think of that contention?

I'm not as worried about it as I am about the Last Chronicles. I'm not as emotionally invested. That's why I am not asking for a hidden forum.

If the forum mod or the admins want to make it an official rule you can easily put a sticky up and then edit anything that goes too far.

Not enough to make it a hidden forum.

Agreed, Jay. The case that has been made about hidden fora discouraging new participation and giving the board a clique-y feel is compelling. Putting the discussion behind a curtain isn't the solution.

However...

Unless Av, Jay, and the seldom-seen danlo want to take sole responsibility for it, the new forum ought to have a mod.

Even Mallorys has one...in name, if not effect.

Mallorys folks are well-behaved. The worst thing that happens is someone temporarily forgetting their ABCs, and we have ways of dealing with that. :whip:

Though I do miss Damelon participating, and I'm not above guilt-tripping him over it. :P

We'll have a mod or two in there. Patience. ;)

:LOLS:

Mallory's remains one of my favorite places on the internet. I miss null's randomness, iolanthe's calm posts (I could sense she posted while having a cup of tea), and of course Frosty's creativity. But it's still fun and actually can be a brain teaser at times.

So...I guess we still need mods for the new forum?

if this post is accurate, one unfilled need is a WoTY user item for the 2012 winner, who seems to feel that lack even to this day.
