Aaaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Micheal Rennie was the only one who didn't star in Forbidden Planet. He of course starred in The Day The Earth Stood Still.
I am sooo disappointed.
Now what were you saying?

Spinach is the only non-brassica (cole) vegetable.

These are all American... only R.E.M. had any lasting commercial success... only Husker Du carries the Sgt Null seal of approval... I'm going to go with Husker Du as it was formed in the 70s and the others were formed in the 80s.
Liechtenstein
Vanuatu
Lesotho

I thought he was ill the Day the Earth Stood Still.
Too much Rocky Horror, not enough practical knowledge.
And Deer, I said it was a toughie, but you are correct with Husker Du, although the reason I was thinking of was it is the only one not produced by Mitch Easter at some point. In fact, Mitch Easter was lead vocals for Let's Active. Which was the best hint I could give. But you may be right with the 70's vs. the 80's as well. I didn't think Husker Du had been around that long as I encountered them in the later 80s.
As for your 4, Deer, I'm going with Africa because the rest are little bitty nations of their own, or republics or some such. I always thought Liechtenstein might be a good place to live.

You are correct, Cags. You would be amazed at the number of people who think Africa is a country.
What about your 4 things?
In the meanwhile here's an easy one:
Kakapo
Emu
Penguin
Kittiwake

Kakapo is the only one that's endangered.
Emu is the only one that's farmed commercially.
Penguin is the only one that wears a tuxedo.
Kittywake is the only one that can actually fly.
(Guessing the last one was probably what you were looking for.)
Here's another easy one, though there are at least two valid answers:
Lynx
Bobcat
Manx
Jaguar

The Manx is the only domestic breed, and the only one non-native to North America. Not sure what else you were thinking of.
Serpent
Rebec
Rackett
Ney

Attempting to use a snake as a musical instrument won't be fun for either party. (I know that isn't the real answer, so someone else please feel free to jump in.)

Jaguar is the only one that has a tail.

I know it's music-related, and I know there's a connection between Breeders and Amps, but I'm not familiar enough with any of them to see the third connection, or which one isn't connected. I'm going to flip a coin and say Brad doesn't belong. (Sorry, Brad.) Sarge is welcome to correct me if that is wrong.
Callisto
Phobos
Io
Ganymede
The Catholics are a jazz ensemble. The rest indie rock. The Catholics are not a side project as well.
