Cool...... Now if only I can find a way to avoid playing dAN, Murrin, and any other potential champion... I might have a chance :?

I prefer to play at www.itsyourturn.com It's been a while since I last played and am registered as vain on there.

Thanks vain!

I checked out that site, and it's certainly a good option. There, the game is played over a preset timelimit (possibly days or weeks) rather than all in one go. You do have to register there, but it only takes about 30 seconds to do.

I wouldn't recomend this one to people who just want to sit down and have their game from start to finish.

Is it the plan to play the game all in one sitting? Might be a bit difficult considering the time differences between the various players.

When do the games begin and where is the log? I could read but I'm feeling lazy :)

One set of games is announced every monday until the champoionship is over and we have a winner. Entrants have the whole week to sort out a game with there opponent and play it. I had counted on this arranging time to be enough to compensate for time difference. But a game of chess that can be played over the week does solve that problem also. My only concern with this option is that people wont be on at (or anywhere near) the same time and the games wont be finished in time.

I think you may be slightly overestimating my abilities there, Infelice. I'm not good at chess, though I'm told I could be with practice.

And Hier - you were originally planning it as 10-minute chess, this has changed now?

Boo timed chess!
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

You did, and as I recall you mistakenly said "Your sire sucks" which I briefly adopted as a great new catchphrase (good one for Buffy fans, heh)

I'm doing the commentary people... ok? :P

*In a John Motson voice* "And Hierachy goes down the left flank with his castle, OH! And that was an excellent interception by Vain there! let's see an instant replay of that, What do you think Andy?"

*Scottish gitish voice come up* "Well I think that was of very poor quality. Every one is very poor, Not a chance. No-one but Scotland is good at all"

*Revan in his John Motson voice once again* "Your an idiot."

Hier, why did you exit the competition? Just so you could watch the replays in slo-mo? I was looking forward to playing you...you have a good game.
