I'd still go for Daniel Day-Lewis for either TC or Mhoram. Good actor, good nose. He did an excellent job in Ages of Innocence.

And Sean Bean for Foamfollower! What a good acting in FOTR.

Played Boromir in LOTR/Fellowship of the Ring, also played the bad guy in both Mission Impossible 2 and Don't Say a Word.

I don't think Sean Bean was in Mission Impossible 2... :? Dougray Scott was the renegade IMF agent, I believe...

Sean Bean was, however, renegade 006 Alec Travelyan in Goldeneye... Not sure about him as Foamfollower. I'd propose Brian Blessed if he wasn't kind of overbearing...

I actually think Sean Bean might make a good TC, if he wasn't a Yorkshireman :)

I would certainly like to see a TC movie, but it would have many difficulties. I read somewhere that SRD had sold the rights to LFB for a movie, but when the people with the money read the book they backed out. Their loss, but ours as well. I am hoping that the success of the Lord of the Rings will spur someone in the direction of Donaldson.

I have always seen the Haruchai as black. Bannor in particular seemed akin to Worf on Star Trek. Very strong and intense.

I also have pondered over the years who would be a good TC. He is now much to old, but Leonard Nimoy from Star Trek would have been good. Tall gaunt and could make that grimace that TC is famous for.

Not one of my favortie actors, but Donald Southerland would be my choice for the older Moham.

Hehe. They agreed before they read the book? Haha. That's just silly.-jay

The one that I can see being a good TC is the lt. that got left behind and killed in platoon. He also played one of the Tom Clancy movies as an operative in Columbia. He had a very expressive face as well as having the physical characteristics ascribed to TC.

you mean Willem Dafoe?

Willem Dafoe is suitably gaunt, and a face made for scowling, but a little old and wrinkly to be TC, IMO :)

I think DaFoe would make a great Caer-Caveral--or Drool! lmao!!!

He's the one I was thinking of! Thanks, and a tip of the hat to Amanibhavam.

I'm dismayed to see no one has mentioned Jeri Ryan. No one! Do you rave?

She'd make a great Linden Avery and I could see her in the Elena role as well. Or how about Gillian Anderson?

Bloodguard should be...

by MisterA.
I always thought of the bloodguard as being almost oriental. Easily mastering any type of fighting necessary and very agile, strong. I can see Jet Li as Bannor.
The other actors I have seen listed are good choices but they would want a TON of money to show up. I would hope that good actors would show up and not ask for 20 million.

One more quick thing... I have read the series twice now and I always envision Harrison Ford as T.C. I know he is older now but try to remember him as Indiana Jones in the "Temple of Doom" movie. Remember his guant appearance when they were torturing him in the caves? Willem Defoe, from the new Spiderman movie, would be good but he isn't getting any younger.
What about Tom Hanks as Mhoram?
Susan Sarandon as Lena's mom.
Bruce Willis (don't laugh) as Mhoram or even T.C. himself. Needs more hair but I think he could pull it off.
Let's just pool our money together and do this thing our selves! I have $52.78 in my pocket right now.
Let me know what you think, I can take a heckle or two.

Patrick Stewart?!!!

Why is it every discussion of a movie version of one of SRD's books Patrick Stewart is cast? Levar Burton as Hile Troy? COME ON!!! Just because he wears a comb over his eyes does not mean the guy should play Hile. That's like saying that just because Peter Sellers played the wheelchair-bound Dr Strangelove he should've been cast in the lead role in Born on the Fourth of July. I'm sure anyone who is a Dr Who fan would probably have different suggestions:
TC: Tom Baker
Lord Foul: the Master
Cavewights: Daleks
Lord Mhoram: the Brigadier
Bloodguard: cybermen
Saltheart: Colin Baker
Oh, and I noticed Gates McFadden cast for MN film!!! I'll scream if someone suggests another TNG actor. Hasn't anyone noticed, but they can't act!!!

Just saw Reign of Fire last night, and I don't know the lead (good guy) character's name, but he is exactly what I envisioned Thomas Covenant to look like.

Isn't that Matthew McConaughey? He would be great as TC! Also, I agree with the TNG anaylsis! I would hate to see these stories ruined with second-rate actors!
