Well, I think it's reasonable to post rumors and such from sources that you find other then SRD's website. I think Alynna's main point is that we need to watch ourselves when something is posted unofficially. Like the whole Saturn mess. Lots of people got really worked up when they read about that, and it ended up just being a rumor blunder. We also want people to know that this movie forum isn't official or anything, and that the only place for official news right now is on SRD's site. So please just make sure your source is a reliable one before you post any news.-jay
I haven't read all the movie stuff but I think the rumour mill is a fine thing indeed and to attempt to police it by saying that only accredited sources should be quoted will end up being a bit problematic
Of course I found this to be quite interesting, especially the answer to Question 10

I'm torn b/w a TV mini-series or full screen movies. On the one hand, Band of Brothers was very well done. On the other, LOTR. But, BoB didn't not require the special effects that LOTR, and TCTC, did/would. A TV mini-series just would not have the same budget, not even close, and therefore the effects would suffer. I can't imagine a fantasy movie w/terrible effects, it'd be horrible. (Maybe pixel animation, like Toy Story, would look good?)
But, in a mini-series, you can extend the "film", and not have to cut and change so much to fit it onto the big screen max of 3 or 3.5 hours.

Wait, before, we were talking about how no film studio would take it because they would consider it a LOTR rip-off....
ummm.....
since when has something being considered a rip-off ever stopped film studios before?
I mean, I see rip-offs all the time, and they're probably LOOKING for something to rip off LOTR with. All that market potential, just going to waste...

Start where you are,
use what you have,
do what you can.

Good point Jem, especially now a days, Hollywood and TV only do ripoffs. Ever heard of reality shows? Is there anything else anymore?
