call me crazy  .. but I think we all need to do some serious chilling :P

heh .. 'ts all good  |G

new people inevitably bring new ideas .. and its not unusual for a new spin to be taken on an old topic .. this spin is not identical to the old question but it is similar ..

these are often interesting takes on stuff not previously considered and that's always groovy baby!! :groovy: :drevil:

we have always had people posting stuff we've done to death .. a simple link to other threads where they can read what we've done will suffice!

as far as the small threads .. well they can remain till they are assessed further ..

everyone here brings their own invaluable and unique take on TCTC and SRD's works .. and that adds to a discussion board like this ..

 :P ofcourse spam is not part of that .. spam will not survive long   :P :|

The best solution would b this-meld similar posts 2gether. Alas, I have asked if it is possible @ Bravenet, BBS and ezboard and was told the technology doesn't xist...

Sky, I agree with you,

OK I'm not the most prolifiic poster, so don't have that much right to comment, but the appeal of this forum is the debate with people who have the same (if a little obscure  ) interest.

Even if topics are repeated, there's always new thoughts in it,

if you're not interested in a post, don't reply, simple isn't it?

So long as you fellas are happy administering it, I think it's all
just great

I am easily pleased though....

I might just start a thread on what a dude Hamako was...

.. everyone regardless of seniority of membership has a right of comment

.. this board does not belong to anyone exclusively
[well apart from Jay maybe~High Lord and Creator of Kevins Watch .. and he himself would not claim exclusive possessory rights over the Watch .. and why? Because he has created a community]..

this is a great site and a pretty cool community! .. and these oh so small issues can be managed quite simply as you have outlined above in your post.

thankyou Hamako for your support and more especially your insight ..

..and yes create a Hamako thread .. I agreew with danlo .. Hamako was a true hero!! A willing hero .. unlike some of our other hero's   the hero's of the Land were by far the best!!

aren't we all just luvverly people??

Hamako will get his true place, oh yes, his heroic status will be rightly vinidicated,

well , as soon as I've read the passages....

I am late chiming in on this, but I think that it is inevitable that a newbie may post something that has already been discussed. The number of threads in the TC forum is overwhelming, and it's a lot of trouble to go through and figure out if want you want to discuss has already been discussed or not.

If a veteran member of the board feels that a topic started by a newbie has already been discussed, provide a link to the original thread. This is what is often done at another forum I frequent.

I joined six months ago, and I feel the same way! This board is so active, it's all I can do to keep up with the daily posts. If I miss a day... 8O
When I first joined I had ambitions of back-reading every post that's ever been posted, but.... 8O 8O 8O :? :?

But that's a good thing, right? :D :D 8)

I read most things but then forget to reply :( We used to chug along at a fairly sedate pace but things have escalated :) However, we're not even remotely as busy as some boards out there....I have no idea how they manage them :) We're still warm and fuzzy :)

I ran one of these boards once, and although I never got round to trying it, I know that there's a merge posts mod available to add to them, so it is possible.

Ya, I think my board support that feature, too.

Good luck guys. You've got a discussion board that is limited in scope to 6 books, you're bound to have tons of duplication.

After I did a search on threads along the lines of "how young is too young for reading covenenat" and didn't find one, Caer Sylvanus was kind enough to shame me into bumping a similar (though still fairly different) thread so that the two are side by side. Now I know enough not to even bother trying.

Whoa, dude. I wasn't trying to shame anybody. I just bumped a thread to try to help out. It's alright if things come up more than once. As I remembered this topic coming up before, I thought it would be good to see what others (including myself to avoid a re-post on my part) have posted before, though. One thread does not preclude the others. It was meant as a footnote, not an insult.
