Correct! The character Pete (young kid, occasionally dressed as a Christmas tree) had come in just after Billy had an incident with one of his dad's inventions - the "Peltzer Peeler-Juicer." Another of his inventions, used as a focus of humor several times, was the "Bathroom Buddy", hence the relevance of the hint.
