I just bought the soundtrack to Pump Up the Volume (1990) at a yardsale for 25 cents and I'm very impressed!
Concrete Blond

)
Bad Brains w/Henry Rollins doing
Kick Out the Jams
Above the Law
Soundgarden doing
Heretic
Sonic Youth
Cowboy Junkies
and Chagall Guevara
This CD really rocks out!

Hands down, the "I Am Sam" soundtrack. One person actually manages to surpass the Beatles. Rufus Wainwright's version of "Across the Universe" Is unbeleivable.

Nobody beats The Beatles at their own game, if you ask me, and, plus, John Lennon said they never made a good recording of Across the Universe (which I find barmy, as I love listening to the version on Anthology 2).

Do you have Let it be naked? Across the Universe is MUCH better in that version, but I still think Rufus made something special. There is some mangled stuff on that album (Ben Fold's version of Golden Slumbers makes me queasy, as does Vedder's version of Don't Let Me Down)

Yeah, I won't deny a great Beatles cover when I hear one. I'm sure it's awesome; my friend loves Rufus, and my friend has great taste.

(damn, I've been using

a lot these days)
