I just tried. Bummaire -- LJ does
not work and play well with this site. If I want to imbed images I have to get a photobucket account or the like -- I need the www. So I'll try to do that.
In the meantime, weasle-like, I drop these urls because I spent time scanning and uploading and wah, I suck. I'll be back with actual imbedded images or perish in the attempt. *
stoically marches off to engage Photobucket*

Hubba hubba. That's just irresistable.

Oh, and all you needed to do was put a .jpg in your other image URLs.

Okay.
This is the first cover I did for my current job, a scholastic publisher -- they distribute to schools and libraries. I've done a ton of titles for them since, but this book has lodged in my heart because the script was so good, and because marketing backed down about making the cover more "comic-booky."

This is another cover from the Graphic Library Series. I'm not sure why I included this.

This is a half-page from Blue Beetle #3, which is theoretically on the shelves.
It's sold out, but only because nobody really wanted it, so pre-orders were low.
I was frowned down for doing a "pale imitation of Cully Hamner," but a couple of reviews liked the mugging/humor.
I'll stop now. Please to be sharing more art. I love to see it. It's my thing.
Than you so much, Wayfriend. You boo.

Okay....but remember, you asked for it. But first, a little back story. It was 1987, I was 23, and I had a friend Chris who was like 15, and worked at my favorite music store, which also sold comics in a back room. Anyway, Chris and a school buddy had made their own comic, and even managed to get our mutual friend Al to publish part of it in his local fanzine, the World of Fandom. Chris showed me the book, and, true to the arrogance of a 22 year old guy, I said "I could have drawn that a whole lot better". So, I was commissioned to do parts 2 and 3 of the story......anyway, here's the cover I drew, which, while meant as an homage to the great Jack Kirby, really is more of a complete ripoff of him.
Heh, I still don't know why there's a stop sign on top of that skyscraper....anyway, here's the Kirby cover of Thor 171.

Those ROCK, Dan. You sure can ink.
More?
Heh. A thousand years ago when I was first trying to puzzle out how to draw comics, I did some fake pages and covers based on TCTC. One of them is Linden absorbing Covenant's silence in The One Tree, and another is an action cover from The Illearth war. Stuff like that. I found them when I moved last fall. They all SUCK.

Sounds like a case of Post Remorse. C'mon, aTOMic! Share it, brother.
