Just thought I'd point out to everyone that this game rocks, and "the more the merrier" is as true here as it is most places.
Come to the Close and try it out.

Can I play? Always fancied myself a Goddess...
I would like to be Elauradaneth, Goddess of Beauty, Healing and Magick (dang, I just read that you're only allowed two...er, pleeeze can I have the three? I'm working on restoring my dogma after the neighbor's karma ran over it in the driveway...)
Doable?

We don't have a goddess yet.

Course you can. Read this thread, the Pantheon Comments thread in the Close, and the Pantheon thread itself, and get going. It'll be great to have you. (And anybody else who wants to join.)
It really is great fun.

OK got my dogma sorted...
Elauradaneth, Goddess of Beauty, Healing and Majick
Dogma: Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, and those beholden to their Goddess shall have unlimited beer. Find healing at the bottom of a pint glass and let the Majick within give you the power to be everything you’ve imagined.

Elfgirl, I just remembered that Maeror is already god of healing... I'm afraid you can't choose that area of influence

OK, easy fixed. Goddess of Beauty, Nature and Magick. Will that do? (goes with my greenie philosophy anyways!)
I'll also amend my dogma. I'm currently working on my intro into the pantheon and my first worshiper (hmmm, wonder who he'll resemble????)

Double post I know, just thought I'd mention that we now have 11 participating players, but there's still room for more.
Must admit the game is a bit addictive though...it's now my first stop in the mornings.

The first post of this thread was made 3 years ago Sunday:

A couple of hours ago, I realized that the Watch would be an ideal place for the testing of a game I made for a few friends of mine a while ago. In its original form, it was an email game, although it could easily be adapted for forums.
The premise was that each player takes on the role of a deity in a fictional, fantasy world. You have your own areas of influence, your own worshipers, your own dogma, and so on. Once you have established these parameters, the game is basically a simulation in which every turn is one season of the world. During each turn, your amount of worshipers changes (giving you more or less power), you have to deal with certain events that require your divine attention, and you may plan a strategy to hinder or help the other deities. Theoretically, the final target is to become the only deity in the world.
My players enjoyed it, and I always would have liked giving it another test drive; so I thought I'd poke around to see if any Watchers would feel like trying it. Anyone interested?
Edit: Of course, choice of areas of influence for the deities is on a first-come, first-serve basis: do not delay, unless you want to end up stuck with the deity of smelly cheese!
