Mary Sullivan wrote:Our Mothers
There's many a grey haired Mother
In our camp today
Had to give up the old home
So far, far away
They are tired and weary of tramping
Of tramping life they say
Some are just waiting
For the end of Life's day.
Don't wait till those Mothers are silent
Silent in cold clay
Do something to cheer them
Make them glad today.
If you have a Mother
Who is old and grey
Set right down and write her
And send it off today
'Twill make her heart so happy
Her faded eyes will shine.
Don't forget to say to her I love you
Mother of mine
Do you remember how she stood by you
Those times you were sick and in trouble too.
If you have a mother living in camp today
Just plenty of kind words
Is all you need to say
To make her life happy
Till the end of her day
She misses the old home
And loved eyes far away
Her children are scattered
Are scattered far and near
Show mother fond affection
While you know she is here.
Long days she's toiled and prayed for you
Gave up many pleasures you know
Just to take care of you
And let you places go.
Perhaps the mortgage on the old home was made
So you could go to schools.
I wish I had a mother
I'd write her a letter today
There's so many things I'd tell her
So much I have to say.
So silent she is sleeping
On that hill far away.
God, I thank thee for that Mother
I'll meet again some day
She taught me to serve thee
And to always be kind.
God Bless all camp mothers
Make them wonderful as mine.

Pardon my ignorace sir Knight, for I didst not knowist how high a favour thou had heldst for the aforementioned Earl. Thou Sir Neil and I share a common acentery, Nay I am not politacal enough to be debbed with such a handle.Esmer wrote:Earl is the coolest dude on the planet...if thou wishes I will change it, the second choice was Neil Young, the other coolest dude on the planet.....Red Green is Red Green, and Red Green ROCKS, but thou art not Red Green.....speak thy wish......
aaahhh, Shakespeare, who doth posses uncanny ability, yea verily, to take that which proves mundane and to weave such mirthsome tapestries from the silks of satire the dolesome days perchance provides him, in the services of delight for us all.....

I immediately recognized it as genuine, as something I could not empathise, only Mothers could.....

Tam Lin"I was born a mortal child just as you were, when a spell overcame me and I fell asleep...when I awoke I was in America the land of the Conservatives. The Karl Rove holds me trapped in her spell and I yearn for the chance to come back and stay in the realm of man." Once Slartibartfast had heard the tale his heart grew heavy with sadness and he asked Tam Lin if there was even the slightest chance he could be freed if there was he would help him any way he could.
"Tonight is the night of Voting when the Republicans ride across the land and I as their champion must ride with them. When midnight comes wait by the crossroad and you will see three companies of campaign volunteers pass by, let the first two pass I will be amongst the third wearing a Jeb/Frist button and riding a snow white Dodge Charger. You must run to me and pull me from the steed, then no matter what spells they cast do not let me go." Slartibartfast gave him his word and hastened home and slept so that he would be prepared for the event.
When the midnight hour came Slartibartfast was at the crossroads and waiting near a precinct hidden by voter fraud he heard the sound of cigars and jingling watches, the Conservative host was on it's way. He remained hidden from sight and watched as the first group passed, in the first group was The Karl Rove riding a steed as black as a cauldron with silver bridle and silken dressing, the second party passed and Slartibartfast remained still as could be then finally the third party came and amongst them was Tam Lin and at once Slartibartfast ran from his spot , seized him and held him in his arms.
"Tam Lin is away!" The Karl Rove screamed and at once her black horse stopped reared up and came to the edge of the road. The eyes of The Karl Rove were beautiful, yet so inhuman, but Slartibartfast would not despair or let Tam Lin go. The Karl Rove transformed Tam Lin into a Libertarian, but Slartibartfast held him close. Seeing how this didn't work The Karl Rove turned Tam Lin into a NeoCon but Slartibartfast still held onto him wrapping him around himself.
Then as a last resort The Karl Rove turned Tam Lin into an Independent and Slartibartfast screamed in pain but still held him close. The Karl Rove knew she had been beaten and turned Tam Lin back into his true form and rode away saying "Farewell Tam Lin best of my knights gone from me but for the love of America. If I knew Slartibartfast , born of America could win you away I would have taken out your heart long ago."
With that The Karl Rove rode off into the night......and then Tam Lin was welcomed back into the world of man and he and Slartibartfast voted and elected many Presidents.
