I watched halfway, then switched it off. I rarely do that. Generally if I watch an hour or so of a film I'll stick it out til the end, but I simply couldn't tolerate another minute of Twilight. It's as bad as you may have heard, but not in a vigorous "Argh! This is horrible!" kind of way; more a limp, feeble "Is this it?!" kind of way.Posted: Thu Jul 23, 2009 12:42 am
I kept looking at my daughter thinking, "this is awful, these are the lamest vampires ever.".....Then I put in Near Dark and scared the sh*t out of her.

I had some friends that claimed to like horror movies, so I says, "You should watch 30 Days of Night." They couldn't get past the DVD menu

Speaking of horror movies, I watched A Haunting in Connecticut the other night. You know, it really wasn't too bad. I don't buy the 'based on a true story' bit for a minute, but other than that...

I've just acquired the Final Destination trilogy. I've seen part of number two before, but that's all. The little I saw seemed like it was up my street.

I tried watching Quantum of Solace tonight. Got 15 minutes in, and it was unplayable due to the disc being so scratched up 
Which sucks, because now I really feel like watching it!

You're not missing much, from all I've heard. More loud than stylish Bond.
Just ordered My Neighbor Totoro on DVD. Never seen it, should be exciting (especially to hear EarthBound's creator voice a character), and now all I need is Porco Rosso and Grave of the Fireflies (both of which I've never seen) for my Ghibli collection to be complete!
I also want to finish my Kurosawa collection, which requires: Dersu Uzala, High and Low, Red Beard, The Lower Depths, Throne of Blood, and Ikiru.

The style, the grit, the characters, the relationships... Quantum of Solace is a masterpiece, and easily the best Bond film to date. It makes all previous Bond films look like Adam West's Batman; if Casino Royal was Batman '89, then QoS was Batman Begins (we're still waiting for the Dark Knight of Bond films, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will pull it off).
Stop listening to whoever said that to you, and go watch it today! That's an order!

Porco Rosso was ok, and Grave of the Fireflies was especially sad. I don't know if I could get through that one again.

I'd say Casino Royale was Batman Begins, both being successful reboots of the series... Honestly, I tried to watch the movie, but it was just too actiony for a Bond for me.
