Frampton found out he has a neurological disorder so this is defini6 it for him.
Concert is right now. If you aren't at Riverbend in Cincinnati, then you are missing a rocking show!!! Good Zeppelin music from JBLZE... Frampton is on next!!!
Edited. What a friggin great show. He did of course his own stuff, and some Soundgarden and Humble pie, then his last ever song in Cincinnati was a Beatles tune. While my guitar gently weeps. Just WOW.

Sounds like a terrific show, Soulbiter!
I've seen Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Sheppard before, and enjoyed both! Buddy Guy amazed me when I saw him in 2011, as he climbed the balcony steps to play among all of us in the upper audience, and he was seventy-four years old at the time! A true legend!

Still sounds good and he went into the audience and performed for us as well.

Tonight, Peter Frampton (with Jason Bonham) is playing in Tampa. (about 20 minutes away) I tried to get tickets, but no avail.
Tonight, my cousin is at the concert and drove 8 hours from Georgia to attend. She won a pair of tickets off her local radio station.
Just my luck!

I saw them when they were in Cincinnati. I have long wanted to see Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening and I was not disappointed. But man, Frampton blew the roof off of Riverbend. The place was as full as I have ever seen it... 100% sold out. Keep in mind that he lived in Cincinnati for a number of years so for him this was home for a long time.
He played all the tunes you would expect and did so with very little breaks in between. It was as if he was trying to get the crowd every song that he could in his final tour. His songs from "Frampton comes Alive", were so good and his voice so strong, it was hard to believe that he was calling it quits due to health.
Frampton ends with a Beatles song. While my Guitar Gently Weeps. Before he leaves the stage he tells everyone "thank you" then he gets choked up and says " I cant say Goodbye".
Probably my best concert experience in the last couple of decades.

I like Frampton as a person on the stuff I've seen of him, but I know so little of his stuff. I have said for some time if I was the type of person to name my penis, I would name it Frampton. And I would make a nuisance of myself naming his famous album title.

Speaking of retirement tours, last night, Dam-sel, Menolly, and I saw Sir Elton John's
Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Tacoma. Great show, including both the hits and a few surprising deep cuts.
Here is the set list for those who care to see it, spoilered for those who don't:
Bennie and the Jets
All the Girls Love Alice
I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues
Border Song
Tiny Dancer
Philadelphia Freedom
Indian Sunset
Rocket Man
Take Me to the Pilot
Someone Saved My Life Tonight
Levon
Candle in the Wind
Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding
Burn Down the Mission
Daniel
Believe
Sad Songs Say So Much
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
The Bitch Is Back
I'm Still Standing
Crocodile Rock
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting
Encores:
Your Song
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Indian Sunset was (to me) the most surprising choice. This is a pretty obscure song from the second side of
Madman Across the Water, but it was a masterful reminder of just how good some of those early neglected songs were.

It was about a month ago, but the Shonen Knife concert was amazing. I don't know if it is true or not, but the bassist (Atsuko) and I seemed to lock eyes a lot. I had a crush on her a bit from the videos and album covers, and, while it may be a fantasy, I crushed even harder seeing her live.
They are definitely funny and hard rockin' in a Ramones kind of way, but I don't think I've smiled so much at a concert in my life.
And they keep a
blog of their tour, which was fun.

In the last few months, I have seen tribute bands for free in a park (with a very good stage/bandstand) right by me.
There was a tribute band for Styx, who were VERY good.
A band for Journey.
And recently, a band for Billy Joel.
The bands I didn't catch were for Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Queen.

Queen + Adam Lambert
Saw it with the whole family - a great experience. It was a well thought out show with some awesome surprises.

I have a ticket for Coheed & Cambria's current tour - still listed as a featured show by the theater, but I'm quite certain it will be cancelled.
And Ticketmaster probably won't refund all their freakin' 'convenience fees'. Eeeevil.

Concerts? Time to restart this thread!
Well looks like I get another year to practice my German. Summer Breeze officially canceled this week. While not unexpected still disappointing. We are keeping our tickets and will just roll them over for 2022. It's gotta happen next year, right?
But stateside things are looking up.
In Indy area in September is Megadeth / Lamb of God / Trivium / In Flames. Had our tickets since last year, then postponed to July this year then again to September this year. Looking iike this one is a 'go'!. But then who will plaqy bass for Megadeth? Stay tuned...
In Indy in late September is Mac Sabbath. 21 and over show so neither of my boys can make this one with me.
Also in September is Avatar. But skipping Indy! Sucks, the closest will be Chicago and Fort Wayne but both shows are on a weeknight. Not saying not going to one of them, but will involve driving back afterwards. My boys are telling me they are going with or without me!
In October in Chicago Raven is headlining a smallish metal festival at a pretty cool place we have seen some bands at before. Reggie's Rock Club. I am hoping and anticipating they will add some more dates in the region. Hard to imagine coming all the way over from the UK for just one show.
And hopefully with Europe all still shutdown and the US opening back up many of the metal acts will start lining up shows here stateside. I am hoping and thinking that may happen.
But concerts! Yes, as stated, time to restart this thread.
