The deadline will be sometime in the afternoon tomorrow, US East Coast time zone. I can post a warning track post, if you want.

This contest is tougher than it looks, but I'm a bit surprised there are so few participants - compared to the last one, anyway. (Unless they just haven't been posting that they've PM'd wayfriend.)

There are 2 that I still can't solve. I'm sure that when I see the answers, I'll want to shoot myself.

I concur, mm. (And no, there are no applicants who haven't posted.)
Perhaps, as I was afraid of, the contest lacks excitement when entries aren't posted in the thread.

I was pretty excited when I finished my answers, but yeah, excitement amongst the masses might have to wait for the publication of the answers themselves.

No, it's not lack of excitement in the contest at all.
It's just that for those of us who truly suck at word puzzles, this one is freaking hard!!!

It would have been slightly easier if it was kept to one set of chronicles. I must have admit I have given up in disgust.

Still plugging away at the last unsolved ones.
Like dlb, I am dreading the "aha...why could't I get that?" moment when answers are published for any I did not get.

Usually I'm pretty good at word puzzles. I just think I'm not familiar enough with the Chrons yet to recognize quotes. I haven't read any of the books more than twice, and most of them I've only read once. So far I've made no progress, and I have nothing worthy of submission. Sorry.

I'll be next in line when you're done with the gun.

And the winner is ...
From way downtown, BANG! rdhopeca!
Rob was the only one to answer them all correctly. How did he do it? Frankly, I think he hacked into my computer. I thought some of those were impossible!

Scoring:
Savor Dam 13
StevieG 6
rdhopeca 15
dlbpharmd 12
matrixman 8
Answers:
"You will not fail, however he may assail you. There is also love in the world."
Everyone got this one right.
"You don't believe in possession. How can I make you believe in possessors?"
Only rdhopeca and Savor Dam got this one. Lots of people got this wrong, thinking PO stood for POWER.
"That is the grace which has been given to you, to bear what must be borne."
Everyone got this one right.
Giant-troth Revelstone, ancient ward-
Heart and door of Earthfriend's main:
Preserve the true with Power's sword,
Thou ages-Keeper, mountain-reign!
Three people got this one.
"Those who know me have no need of my name."
Everyone got this one right.
"When evil rises in its full power, it surpasses truth and may wear the guise of good without fear of discovery."
Only rhodpeca and matrixman got this one.
"I have a knowledge of power that I wish to share with you."
Everyone got this one right.
"Melenkurion abatha! Duroc minas mill khabaal!"
Believe it or not, only three people got this one. Seems some of us could not remember the words ...
Come! This is the caamora! Come and be healed!
Everyone got this one right.
"I'm a leper, Foul. I can stand anything."
Everyone got this one right. (This surprised me.)
"Its imperfection is the very paradox of which the Earth is made, and with it a master may form perfect works and fear nothing."
Three got this right.
"The price of sight is risk and dare."
Only rdhopeca got this one. dlbpharmd came close.
"I am the First of the Search — a Swordmain of the Giants. Battle is my craft and my purpose."
Three got this right.
"Felling them, Pitchwife weeps as no Haruchai has ever wept."
Three got this right.
Do not hurt where holding is enough;
do not wound where hurting is enough;
do not maim where wounding is enough;
and kill not where maiming is enough;
the greatest warrior is he who does not need to kill.
Almost everyone got this one. Sorry, StevieG, you had two words wrong.

I knew I was wrong on this. I wrote in "power," and thought to myself, I can't remember that line from the chronicles anywhere. But, I couldn't come up with the correct answer.
"When evil rises in its full power, it surpasses truth and may wear the guise of good without fear of discovery."
Only rhodpeca and matrixman got this one.
I couldn't come up with this one at all, and now that I see it, I realize why. I never would have gotten this one. I can't place the source or speaker, is it a 1st Chronicles quote?
"The price of sight is risk and dare."
Only rdhopeca got this one. dlbpharmd came close.
Crap. I said 'danger,' but it didn't sound right to me because SRD would never write 'risk and danger'. What's the source on this one?
This was a great challenge, WF, and alot of fun! Congrats rd!

Kevin said this, in White Gold Weilder, to Linden, in Andelain.
dlbpharmd wrote:"The price of sight is risk and dare."
Findail said this, in The One Tree, after telling the Search of Kastenessen.
