Thoughts about a new set of particles have been collected under the title "supersymmetry". It would appear that you would have to have supersymmetric boson particles for all the fermions and supersymmetric fermion particles for all the bosons. This has led to a new set of names:

* supersymmetric quarks .......... squarks
* supersymmetric leptons ..........sleptons
* supersymmetric photons .........photinos
* supersymmetric gravitons ........gravitinos
* supersymmetric gluons .......... gluinos
* supersymmetric W's ...............winos
* supersymmetric Z's ................zinos

Whether animals – specifically whales – are capable of using telepathically the words which every pet owner knows they understand but can’t speak, is debatable, but I am convinced by my own experience that animals are capable of concepts.

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

It also helps now that I've connected emotionally with one of the characters, the chimp Fiben.

That triad leadership arrangement among the Gubru, and listening to the thoughts of each of the leaders, is fascinating, too. The Gubru are so believable, in spite of their strangeness, that the threat they pose is especially scary.

David Brin wrote THE PRACTICE EFFECT early in his career, but by that time he had already won a rare combination of awards by his ability to explore the myriad ramifications, within a society, of one single physical or social trait – in this case “practice makes perfect”.

I see, it was a political move to keep the humans' status low, in spite of all the pre-sentient beings that had evolved -- nyah nyah -- on Earth. lol
