Our firm intraweb is featuring a story today about our newest branch office, in the British Virgin Islands. The article says Sir Richard Branson will manage the office. I'd have already dropped my name in the drawing for the free charter flight into space on Virgin Galactic, if I thought there was a shred of truth to any of it.

danlo wrote:I'm pissed to hell and back-I can't believe I voted for this guy twice and wanted him to be Secy of State!!!! This idiot Governor of mine wants to put toll booths on I-40 and I-25!!! Absurd! Insane! Ridiculous! But I really feel sorry for the poor bastards that commute between Albq and Santa Fe. Actually the ones who are going to get nailed the worst from this are the people who live in the mountains and rural areas and have no other choice. And some of the poorest people in this piss-poor state live in rural communities.

Gods this is insane! None of the neighboring states do this. Major trucking may be rerouted-we'll lose income from that. OK so it helps the environment-people will take the Rail Runner, they'll carpool even more than they are. WooHoo! The city grid will become much more congested because no one will take the freeways-total joy. Their reasoning is shortfalls from the gas tax because fewer people are driving. WTF!!!??? That makes no sense whatsoever. And during a recession? God I live in the stupidest state in the US. No wonder NM has so many great fantasy writers - our reality sucks!!!
:-x :P

(oh and btw-to make matter ever more ridiculous-the booths won't be on the freeways they'll be at the on ramps :screwy: except when you enter the state)

It's got to be an April Fools joke--please god let it be an April Fools joke PLEASE!
I heard on the news this morning that the local government here in Tampa was restricting lawn watering to once a week, between midnight and 4 am, or something like that. I'm assuming it's an April Fools' gag; guess I'll know by tomorrow.

I don't feel well today, so I'm skipping half of my classes. I hate skipping school, but I think I have to this morning. One of my morning classes is teaching at another school, and I shouldn't go around contaminating children. The other morning class, I didn't finish the homework for because I was sick and kept falling asleep on top of it, so there's no point in going anyway. Maybe if I rest enough today I will be better tomorrow. I hope.

Thanks.

(Don't worry about it, enough people have misspelled it by now that I've come to expect it. I think everybody knew who you meant anyway. So all is forgiven. :) )

I'm feeling ok, but I'm hoping to get home early today. We are supposed to get a huge snow that seems to be delayed, and just might never come. I hope it comes, but only after I'm hope and safe. If it doesn't, we may have to make a 3 hour drive to the in-laws. Not that I mind that as much as Carla who is about a month from delivering a baby and doesn't enjoy being in the car. Her 10 minute drive to and from work is enough to make her grumpy and uncomfortable these days. I can't image what that drive will be like.
