Well, ran into a bit of a rl snag last night, but here I am. I'm making the deadline Friday, the 25th. If balon get's his friend signed up by tomorrow, we'll have him, Jove, and Erd on a new continent, on a new map, and the two groups will not be able to act on each other's maps. (Until Group 2 is stronger.)

If balon does not get him signed up by tomorrow, Erd and Jove will be in the upper left and right corners, respectively, of the current map, where there are already populations of some sort, and the game will be permanently closed to new players.

With the god of earth and the goddess of commerce on the same continent... Can we just call it the counterweight continent right away? It'll save time.

Excellent! Welcome, Gannana! :D I've unlocked the Revelations thread for you.

OK, I'll make another map post haste.

So, the two different groups can talk all they want. I couldn't stop you from any private communications you want, even if I wanted to. But it's cool anyway. For now, some sort of invisible barrier (aka, the all-powerful Mists) prevents you from using power in the other groups part of the world. But you can talk and plan all you want.

The reason for all this, in case it's not clear, is that Narie has a limited, and small, population. Compared to Eiran's, anyway. I don't want hugely powerful deities. Not only would it be too much trouble for this first-time GM, but it can take creativity away from the game. Someone trying to grab more and more and more followers, thinking it's important to keep up with the Joneses, might not get around to trying cool new ideas with their domain.

Therefore, the new deities can't simply start on Mekoth or Ayana. There's extremely few unaligned inhabitants there.

OK, let's see here. A couple of you have asked me about Spells of Protection of one sort or another. There are ways many, if not all, of you can use your domains for SoP. I'm not going to say how, but some of you have already done some.

However, there's another option. I think this is something I should tell you about, because it's kind of odd. It goes along with this, from the Rules:
I wrote:**I have a big exception to the idea of using your power only in your domain. I believe a deity can do many things for her/his worshipers simply because they are her/his worshipers. The God of Agriculture wants to get some serious clearing of land and plowing? He can put the power he gets from worship right back into the worshipers. They'll be stronger, able to work more, for the turn. All he's doing is energizing their bodies. This is not to be confused with the God of Strength making his followers permanently stronger. The God of Agriculture has to do it each time he wants them stronger. And deities can heal sick and injured followers. Just energy to the body, right? But only the God of Healing can give people a permanent Healing factor, or make one person able to Heal others.
I think any deity can give a follower a general shield that resists divine energy. To quote an email I sent someone, not sure how good a job I did of it, but I once tried to explain that all of your Prophets are immune to any mental or emotional powers. No being has the power to mess with the deities themselves, not even another deity. And the deity can easily strengthen the Prophet's mind and emotions against any attack through the bond between them.

Of course, your bond with your Prophet can't protect your Prophet from physical things. Actual physical attacks still work. And so would energy/magic/etc attacks on your Prophet's body. Professor X can't mess with your Prophet, but Magneto can rip all the iron out of your Prophet's blood. You can't even give a spell of Protection from such things.

However, you can give your Prophet protection from such things if they are the result of divine power. You all get your power from the same source: the worship of followers. Therefore, the power has similarities, despite the differences that come from the different domains. But a general Spell of Protection is only half as good as a specific spell. So - "I use 2 DRPs to give my Prophet a Spell of Protection from divine power." So even if another deity personally hits your Prophet with 1 DRP worth of whatever, your Prophet is ok. And if another deity gives a follower 1 DRP of power, and that follower attacks your Prophet, still safe. If the God of Strength gives someone 1 DRP of enhanced Strength, and he punches your follower, the divinely-given Strength bounces off your Prophet's 2-DRP shield. (The punch still goes through, though. :D) If the Goddess of Weather's follower chucks 1 DRP of lightning at your Prophet, all is well. Because the Strength or lightning are tinged with divine power. They cannot separate the Strength or lightning from the divine power.

But, since the Strength and lightning are in the domain, they are stronger than a generic, anti-divine SoP.

Also, I only used your Prophet as an example, because I started with your Prophet for the mental/emotional stuff. You can give this protection to any follower.

Is anything about that clear??
