Watching a truly spectacular full moon - a real show off.
(was unable to sleep last night as the antibiotics I'm taking have knocked me sideways. And we've been having extremely hot nights)
I didn't get to see the Jupiter/Venus collision last night as we had cloud cover. And its been clear skies for days on end - bummer.
To compensate, it seems, the morning sky is filled with lots and lots of invisible wisps of cloud which only appear as they drift past the hazy yellow moon. This has produced the spectacular effect of the moon constantly changing shape, from minute to minute.
Too many effects to describe but one made me gasp, as several thin bands of grey smokey cloud made the moon appear almost like the planet Jupiter. It even had a small swirl of cloud pass over the lower regions as if the moon itself were impersonating the famous Jovian storm.
