Who upset Geraden by saying, "He came back alive. Without her. Geraden would never have done such a thing."
The "her" is Terisa.

Another hint: this was said to Master Barsonage.

Havelock?

You are correct, Avatar! Adept Havelock says this to Barsonage in Geraden's presence, and Geraden is most upset to hear it!

I've always thought it was a line very uncharacteristic of Havelock, because it sounds so...coherent. :P

Your question! :ct03: :7up:

Well, maybe, but the implications aren't...if it isn't Geraden, then who is it? (If you know what I mean.)

Anyway...hmmm...

What changed Terisa's perception of Reverend Thatcher?

Her remembering the calling of horns while the Reverend was speaking to her?

Hmm, maybe actually, but I was looking more for what were they speaking about...

Didn't the reverend show a shrewd side when he promised Terisa he'd make sure the profits from selling her apartment would (still) go to the mission?

Nah, what I'm thinking about is before her first translation.

I seem to recall Reverend Thatcher giving Terisa Morgan information about his late wife, and explaining why it was important for him to serve the poor directly by resigning his position at a prestigious church.

That's the one. :D Your question. :D

Okay, then:

Master Barsonage eventually comes to distrust Master Eremis, thanks to a warning from Artagel. What does Barsonage deceptively tell Eremis that the Congery is spending all its time studying?

Hmmm, was it that they were studying how to translate one mirror into another?

CORRECT, Avatar! In truth, the Congery was working on a variety of experiments, but Barsonage wanted Eremis to think they were working on that one hopeless task (hopeless when the oxidate in the curved mirror's matrix was unknown)...
Very good, and your question! :)

Hoist by my own petard. :D

Ok...

What were the circumstances of Joyse's disappearance from Orison? What had just happened?

Joyse had granted an audience to Prince Kragen a second time, and this time Kragen had Terisa and Geraden with him. King Joyse had just learned from T & G that Queen Madin was abducted by men who appeared to be Alends. The King went to challenge Kragen about that, then Artagel knocked the Prince out. Right after that, the King disappeared from the audience hall.

Wasn't there some sort of very important action scene that occurred..?

You mean the cloud-being Havelock translated for Joyce to carry him?

No, something happened in the main hall, and when the confusion cleared, Joyse was gone...

(Damn, I hope I've got this ion the right place... :D )
