I haven't but I heard they are still waiting.

I am ill today, which makes me wonder if when the kid does come if I will be permitted to be around him. I'm already starting to feel my voice go.

This sucks.

I'm feeling old - man, I never thought I'd feel old.

My daughter (18 ), had a beautiful baby girl last sunday, making me "Grandpa Bob".

Jesus, I'm only 42.

Anyway, they are both home and doing fine.

Congrats on achieving granddadhood, Phantasm! :)

I feel your pain. My niece is due to have a baby in August. That will make me a...great-aunt. 8O Holy cow.
I kid around a lot here about being old, but *man*. 8O

Cag, if you happen to see Cag, tell him I said hi, okay?

I feel like you must have, MM. NO PIE! <sigh>

Menolly, I sure the pie I had didn't have meringue on it. I want THAT pie. I'm going to go to that restaurant again, next time I'm in SF and I'm going to sit there and eat a WHOLE PIE! I don't care how much it costs me!

Pie...oh woe...pie...oh woe...

:( Dlb...this is all YOUR fault!

Who knew that sharing a piece of key lime pie with you was going to turn you into a raving addict?

I hope he arrives soon. Carla must be over it by now.

I'm feeling ALIVE!

Winter is approaching, it's a crisp morning (well it was when I took this photo - a few hours ago) around 10C/50F (or so the temp conversion thing tells me) - I walked my nearly-6 year old son to school, felt that "bite" in the air, but such a beautiful morning....

Am sitting at "work" (which is home sometimes) looking out the window, and this is what I see:

... all I have to do is cut the roof off the house next door, and I'd have a great view...

I feel woolly in the head. Hours and hours and hours of late-night/early-morning writing on the disputes between the Norman kings of Sicily and the papacy in the 12th century will do that.

Get some rest, Cj!

Ha, I wish! If I rest I won't get the work finished in time. I'll rest after I hand it all in at 5pm...at least until the next morning, when it starts again.

I'm completely drained. Night classes are hard. 5 pm to 11 pm is torture and this semester is the hardest yet: Anatomy and Physiology 2 and Medical Law, Ethics and Bioethics.

Fuuuun.

I had a really upset stomach today, and no appetite. And a lot of classes. And participated in a judo demonstration.
At the demonstration, my sensei surprised me by promoting me, along with a classmate who has been in judo for one semester longer than me, to 1st class brown belt (the level just below 1st degree black belt)! He gave both of us monogrammed judo duffel bags in honor of our promotion. I almost cried, I was so surprised and happy. But I was disciplined enough to just stand there in shock and smile and bow at the appropriate times. One of my close friends was promoted to green belt (4th class, 3 levels under me). I've suspected for the last three months that she would be promoted tonight, she's doing so wonderfully in judo. It was a very special evening. I wish my parents hadn't been busy so they could have come to see it. My friend's parents were there, so at least I'll have copies of their pictures.
Now I have to finish writing a paper that was due 12 hours ago. At least I thought to ask for an extention last week, so I can hand it in tomorrow without penalty.
So I guess today has been an emotional roller coaster!

Thanks. :) I still am somewhat shocked. I really wasn't expecting this yet, I thought I still had a ways to go before I'd be ready. I guess that means I'll just have to work extra hard until I think I've earned it. :D

Damn! I dozed off for a couple of hours. Fortunately, I was on the sofa, and I don't exactly sleep very soundly there. Now I just have to finish essay 2 (on phenomenology of landscape) and hand all this stuff in.

Then tomorrow I have two more to do. Woo.

Congrats on your new belt, Owlie! And good luck to all who are in the throes of finals. I can tell you for a certainty that Batty and Magickmaker feel your pain. Their finals end Monday. And Batty graduates on the 17th. :S

Thanks. :) I actually get to keep the same belt (there are three levels of brown belt), but 1st class brown belt sounds so much nicer than 2nd class brown belt!

Monday? They're so lucky. My finals don't end until Friday!

Relay my congratulations to Batty!
