The Wayback Machine says ezboard was excluded from it. I wonder whoever could want that and what for, except maybe they're shrinking the archives, but strange still.

I have no idea at this point what the original board looked like...
I vaguely remember something reddish brown on a pale background, but I'm not even sure if that's from there for sure.

Why didn't I save the thread with Mhoram vs ... fights :hithead: I know there are similar ones here, but that one was good, even if hard to look at because of the pages style.

Thanks for checking the Wayback Machine, Effy. I thought about it, but couldn't remember what it was called (plus I was running late...).

The wayback machine was going to be my suggestion as well...

Have you checked the Wayback Machine?

Well, if no one else has, I'll try it.

Does anyone recall the url for the EZBoard version of the Watch? Having never been a member, I have no idea what to enter.

Not a chance. Danlo might, but I don't.

I did find a link to the old Ahira's Hangar in one of danlo's REALLY old posts, and I tried that on the Wayback Machine this afternoon. But I didn't find that, either. :( It said none of the pub40.ezboard domains were in their database. I can't swear to it that the Watch was a pub40 -- in fact, I kind of don't think it was -- but I suspect we're out of luck. Oh well.

I may have an old link saved somewhere, but no time to look for it now.

The person most likely to know and/or have an archive saved would be Jay. If you can get his attention. ;)

Yeah, as if.

So I tried images.google.com. If this isn't the old EZBoard logo, it's close enough for government work.

That's definitely not it, ali.

I found an old link to Kevin's Watch on the Wayback machine, but the Wayback Machine no longer seems to have it archived, for some reason. It did when I first picked up the link, not sure why it was dropped.

Here's the link for the Kevin's Watch board, if somone has time to play with it and see if they can come up with anything: pub33.ezboard.com/bkevinswatch

Also tried searching Jay's first and last name, came up with some links to The Land. (Remember that? When was the last time any of us went there? Is Vain paying for that domain name?)

But nothing related to the old KW on EZBoard.

Jay originally used to have a page (with a guest book!) connected to the original KW, guess that went the way of the dinosaurs, too. ;)

I know, right? I too thought theland might still have a link and/or some EZBoard materials on his site, but the only thing I saw was a link to www.kevinswatch.com, which now points here. Jay took down his old site when he finished grad school.

I also seem to remember something about EZBoard losing our archive, either in a hacking or in some transition or another. That's great that you found the old web address, tho, MsMary. 8)

Tried more on the wayback machine, everything gives various negative results. Even making a search that was theoretically supposed to give all the ezboard with subpages retuned a link for which it says then it's not archived and a more than 9 years old link to robots.txt o_O

I'd rather hope someone has some pages archived. I often do so with ones I particularly like to more reliably not lose them, but, if I remember correctly, I had something keeping me from staying there for long then, likely my internet connection + my computer + other things, I didn't have normal internet till the recent few years, so likely no copies(

Isn't it in the album?

Nah, it belongs to another guy. Can't remember his name, have corresponded a bit with him couple years back.

I got the impression that Vain was somehow involved in paying for or hosting the site (not that he created it, mind you) from this exchange that took place a few years ago on this forum.

I only saw screenshots of the current board in the album, none of the EZBoard.

The oldest ones I've seen there were 2004, or I've missed something

My point exactly. There are no old forum logos or screenshots from the EZBoard site. Which was what ali and I were looking for.

What MsMary said. Ah well.

I would be willing to settle for a circa 2002 "EZ Board" logo, and then put the word "Survivor" under it.

Or maybe something else? I dunno. I am not so good with designing illustrations. Like SRD, I tend not to think in pictures.
