I almost never eat when I'm on the internet (prolly because I'm too damn absorbed by it to notice that 3-6 hours have passed me by--but that's another issue!), but the others make total sense to me, Cail!

43.6 lbs. today. Should be 45 next week, if I can keep out of the Halloween candy.... Luckily I'm not buying any for home -- I'll be out of town on Halloween night, so I can't even pretend that I'd be buying it for the trick-or-treaters. I have bought some for my desk at work, but oddly I haven't had a craving for it. It helps that I put the bowl on the other end of my ledge, out of the line of sight when I'm on the computer. Anyway, next week I'm off, so I'm going to dump the rest of the candy in the bowl on my way out the door tonight and let folks here finish it off next week.

Wow! To all the people who are losing/trying to lose weight, good luck and congrats on the progress that you've had thus far. If not for the weight loss, just know that you're doing it so that you can have a healthy heart and body and keep yourself in good shape long enough to finally see The Last Dark roll off the press. I've been up and down that rollercoaster enough times in my life, and, as a matter of fact, I bought another ticket, I just haven't gotten on yet....

.....and remember folks, beer has been scientifically proven to rehydrate you better than water after a workout!! Does anybody need any more convincing than that?

Aw shucks, Lyr, thanks....

The nice nurse practitioner lady told me today that I could drop back a bit on my blood pressure med. I really got serious about losing weight last year, when I landed in her office with a really high blood pressure reading. BP at today's checkup: 98/68.

Alas, I still need to drop 20 lbs. to be merely "overweight".... But it's coming!

I may be the only one who still cares about this thread...but as of today, I'm officially down 50 lbs. Go me!

(I bet this thread will pick up more interest in about a month...)

Congrats, ali!

I still care about this thread. I am not losing much weight these days, but I am glad to be holding steady, at the moment.

I seem to be hungry a lot these days. And trying to limit my intake is kind of stressful, right now.

I want to increase my activity level, but my knee has been bothering me. I have an orthopedic appointment on Thursday.

Thanks!

It's going to cost me big just to walk in the doctor's office. I selfpay office visits cause my current insurance is hospitalization only. So I hope I will get some positive input from the doc on my knee. Aggravation of a very old injury. :(

Yeah, November/December is meant to be a wash - even a little gain is fine. Don't worry about that so much. It will disappear quickly in the new year.

Myself, I believe I have plateaued - I think my body has finally become accustomed to the workout regimen - the upside is that I can now fast-jog 15 minutes before I even break a sweat.
My plan for January - I'm not even going to bother until then :) - is to incorporate interval sprints into my running, and start doing a 1-rep-max-press at the end of each weight set. I don't ever, ever want to look like Ah-nuld, so my focus is more on cardio than weights, but I like being strong, especially now that I can leg-press more than what I weigh. Still working on those #%$^&*! pushups, though. I hate them. They surpass me.

This week has been ugly. Cookies everywhere, and a party to go to tonight. I'm now hoping to get to New Year's without wreaking too much havoc. :(

I'm planning on the heroin diet plan once the new year rolls around. I hope that doesn't lead me back to smoking.

Gee, Cag, instead of heroin, you could instead try the water diet... 100% Mexican river water, that is. There's no weight problem that a little diptheria can't solve, and without the stigma of drug addiction. ; )
