Hopefully not an omen on the day: I was sitting on the side of my bed, drinking a cup of coffee; when Mani, my dog, hopped up to say hi. He immediately gave back a part of his breakfast, on my lap.

I'm turning 21 and my older brothers are saying the same thing.

The only one in the house who felt 100% ok yesterday was the cat. This morning, I feel like I've got this cough I've had since Friday beat and everyone else seems better, so. 8)

Talk about feeling old...my lad will turn 16 this month and will surely want to start the process of getting licensed to drive.

Wish I could find a link to the Jules Feiffer cartoon of the man in various stages of his life exclaiming "But I'm not ready yet!"

I feel foolish. A couple of months back, I passed up buying the Farscape complete set on Amazon for £85 because I wasn't sure about spending so much money. Now it's over £200.

It's been a relaxing day. I had a doctor appointment around midday, so I took the whole day off. Slept in, did the doctor thing, then tried to make mozzarella cheese (it turned sorta brownish -- I think I overcooked it in the microwave -- it tastes like mozzarella, tho!) and ricotta. I think the ricotta is going to turn out fine. :)

I am happy. On Friday a song got stuck in my head and I was struck with the desire to play it on the piano, so I bought a music book online that contained the song. I received it Tuesday afternoon, and on Wednesday morning I was able to successfully perform it for a friend of mine (but none of my family members want to ever hear it again  ). I have only ever had one semester of piano lessons, and I can't read bass clef without counting every note from middle C, so I feel like I've achieved something. The song that was stuck in my head was Enya's "No Holly for Miss Quinn".

I have a new computer. I love it. If it were a man I'd marry it! And I have this wizz-bang HUGE screen.

And apart from that, life is aok. I'll get there, one of these days.

Oh yeah, I'm fine. Just a blood pressure checkup. The numbers look so fab that I don't have to see the doctor again for another six months. 8)
