Over here... I'm having a pretty happy day.
Otoh, I feel like being social.... I don't think that inclination of mine is gonna be fulfilled today, but eh, I can hold on till tomorrow.

* And what I really mean by that is that I approve of and delight in all those creatures except the piranhas; and that's just a personal preference because they are scary.

As a serial adopter of antisocial kittens (some of whom have become really amazing housecats...others not so much, but all who have found "forever homes" with us), I applaud Sorus' service.

Colonoscopy went fine (I know you were all dying to hear ), except the tip of my tongue is still numb. It happens, apparently, and will eventually go away. Or so the intarwebz tell me.

One blog post and two days of working at the day job stand between me and my vacation. Well, and packing and stuff.

A strange place for a reaction to that procedure! I had my first one in February. The preparation is as bad as the procedure.

Yea I'm overdue for that procedure. I plan to schedule it in August for an October procedure.... cant you see how much Im looking forward to it?

I had it done a few months ago without anesthesia It was actually quite painless and the prep was by far the worst part.

Sorry I missed this. I fed the fish. I cleaned their tanks. Some require hands on interaction.

The two octopi I worked require interaction. Feeding by placing food in plastic containers the open themselves. Julie and I got to hold them. They wrap themselves pretty tight.

The seahorses I got to come to me for food. I held it in tweezers and they came from the bottom of the tank to feed. I am the only one who took the time to do this.

The piranhas are dangerous, but like in the movies. When the keepers were cleaning their tanks I threw shrimp to the other side to distract them.

The electric eel had burned himself. So I had to wake him by banging on his tank. (Never do that BTW). Then I held onto the shrimp and "swim" as if he had live prey. When he bolted for his shrimp I would let it go. Did that a few times til he got better.

Any specifics you want to know just ask.

Loved feeding my sharks. Miss the zoo tremendously. When back from vacation, looking. Into going back every other Friday.

I miss the animals so much. And my friends I worked with.

Seahorses are fascinating.

Finally getting around to booking tickets for this year's Edinburgh Fringe visit. Always really tough to decide what to see and work out how to fit it all in. Got 6 paid shows booked now, filling a lot of the first two afternoons/evenings. Have a morning and a full third day still to plan out.

Lot of free shows I could fill the space with, but problem with those is you can turn up and find the place already full to capacity. And then with the time it takes finding something else to do I end up with big gaps of doing nothing.

Oh, to be young with the energy to do three full days of shows. I would probably spend the time not booked meandering around looking at vendors and local sights, with lots of rests inbetween.
