How do you feel today?

Mondays are for the most part undesirable . My water well outside is just about dead, my grass is brown from lack of water. The well driller hasn t come out yet.But, thank God, the cars all run, its 78 degrees outside,everybody is healthy,the kids all went to Best Buy..and me and my beautiful wife of 22 yrs are heading out the back door for a motorcycle ride on my Star...bottom line - life is good today

Well, after dropping Hyperception off at work, I drove by Beorn's school as we received a phone call that report cards were ready to be picked up. I also needed to get an official transcript so Beorn could apply to be an intern at the library next fall (a paid position), after he finishes earning his 75 "volunteer" hours to qualify to apply for Bright Futures, Florida's college scholarship program.

While I was there, I figured I would ask if there was any idea when the various testing (FCAT, AP, and Cambridge) results would be in. FCAT is the state standardized tests that were taken back in February and March, but we still hadn't received results back. Turns out FCAT results had arrived and were just put out to be distributed.

w00t!!
Beorn ROCKED the FCAT in his weakest area!
6.0 out of 6.0 on the essay!!!
On both the 4th grade and 8th grade essays (they are only given an essay those three years) he barely managed to pass with a 4.0.
Getting the alpha-smart for school work and "use of a computer" for the written portions of testing is obviously working!!

His level stayed about even in Reading and Math, although his score dipped slightly in Math. But he remained in Level 5, which is the highest level for both those subjects.

Now, if only he didn't get a "C" for his term grade in English Literature. At least his previous term grade of a "B+" and his exam grade of a "B" raised his semester grade, the one that goes on his transcript, to a solid "B." So his semester grades were all "A's," except for English Literature. I assume with an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.846 (on a 4.0 scale) and a weighted cumulative GPA of 4.538 (on a 5.0 scale) that he's hanging in there competitively for college applications...

I'm preparing for Burning Man.

Yayayayayay!

I MAY be getting a little ahead of myself... since the #1 thing I have to do is save money and I'm no good at that- but I'm going to start with the big things like the event ticket and the plane ticket and then once I've shelled out for that I'll be more likely to save for everything else.

Anyone here gone before? I'd take advice!

Not good this week for me.

Cutting the grass with the Lawn Tractor, the right wheel came off.
(Cotter pin sheared off)
So when I pushed the tractor, to get it on flat ground I think I strained the sciatic nerve. (only pushed it 5 feet)
Within an hour I was feeling muscle pain in the right buttock area, right backside hamstring, right calf.
It was very painful to walk or even stand up straight.
Couldn't sleep at all last night and ended up on the couch in a contorted position so I could doze a bit.
Pain lessen during the day. (ICY/Hot and motrin helped) but a new condition started.
Numbness on the botton of the right foot and the 3rd & 4th toe.
(now I know how TC felt about numbness in the feet. It's a strange feeling)

So I will see what tomorrow brings..
I just hope I did a light strain on that nerve and not any major issues.

On Monday morning, while riding my bike to work, I was hit by a car.

I got off lucky - only 7 stitches on my leg (two of them internal). The bike needs some work, though.

Ur Dead, if that continues, please get it checked out. Backs and knees and nothing to fool around with.

Rigel, glad to hear that you seem to be doing okay. As someone who literally had to bike everywhere in my younger days I can empathize with having a damaged bike...

Ur-dead, as a former chiropractic assistant, I would insist you get checked out now. The sooner the better.

Of course, my preference would be you see a DC, but I accept not everyone is comfortable with the idea of chiropractic. But get seen by someone.

As almost anyone who worked in the field of chiropractic will tell you...

Rigel, I am glad stitches were all you needed right away as well. B"H nothing was broken! But, if I may, I would suggest you see a DC as well, just to verify nothing was knocked out of place.

The best reason to have chiropractic care, IMO.
But then, even though I no longer work in the field, I am a true convert to it.
