I am heading off to Edinburgh tomorrow! And after that, to Worldcon in London! Big week, lots of things.

Although I may hang on until spring 2020 in order to collect my next sabbatical. A two-month paid vacation would be give me oodles of time to set myself up for retired life. I never realized how important good sleep is.
It is so beautiful today. Cool and dry. I am sitting out in the backyard trying to decide what to plant since zucchinifest is over. I have a nice big (18 x 4 ) planter that needs something. I was thinking of trying some swiss chard. Maybe some beets. Problem is I grow all this stuff and end up giving it away free on craigslist. I guess that actually isn't a problem, is it?

Plant flowers. Or herbs. Can some herbs overwinter? Maybe rosemary? Those seem pretty hardy. I know that a lot of herbs prefer a Mediterranean climate, but maybe you can rig up a sort of greenhouse. I would *love* to have fresh herbs all year round.

yeah, I have taken them there. Most of the time, unless it is bananas or corn, it is rejected. So at least when I give it away on CL I know they really want it.
