Well, for *some* of us, it means the weekend is coming. For you retired slackers, however, I realize Friday isn't any different than any other day.

You, Jenn, and danlo are freakin' hilarious. ;)

Come on, December 2019! Although I may hang on until spring 2020 in order to collect my next sabbatical. A two-month paid vacation would be give me oodles of time to set myself up for retired life. But of course, that assumes the firm is still awarding a second sabbatical by then. Given that I almost didn't get the first one, I'm not making any plans....

you are waxing nostalgic for Colorado......you have friends in New Mexico. At least stick to the flat plains of southern Colorado so I can drag your butt to NM as needed.

I never realized how important good sleep is.

It is so beautiful today. Cool and dry. I am sitting out in the backyard trying to decide what to plant since zucchinifest is over. I have a nice big (18 x 4 ) planter that needs something. I was thinking of trying some swiss chard. Maybe some beets. Problem is I grow all this stuff and end up giving it away free on craigslist. I guess that actually isn't a problem, is it?

Man is it a beautiful day out.

Plant flowers. :) Or herbs. Can some herbs overwinter? Maybe rosemary? Those seem pretty hardy. I know that a lot of herbs prefer a Mediterranean climate, but maybe you can rig up a sort of greenhouse. I would *love* to have fresh herbs all year round.

Is there a food bank or homeless shelter which accepts fresh produce nearby?

yeah, I have taken them there. Most of the time, unless it is bananas or corn, it is rejected. So at least when I give it away on CL I know they really want it. Old folks ask for it and I actually deliver it to them.

Bet, though, if I was giving away chips, I would have lots of takers.

Shameless plug: if you want to know what I'm getting up to in Edinburgh, I'm making a daily post on my blog summing things up. Link is, as always, in my sig.

(I might continue this into my Worldcon trip starting Thursday. )

Sounds like fun. I hadn't checked your blog in a while - not sure why; I like your writing style.

Hello! I am finally back on a real computer! Now I can compose posts while actually being able to see the full text window and without having to fight the cursor to get it to go where I want it!

Yeah, back from Edinburgh. Couple days at home then off again.
