*hoping I made the right decision, choosing to go to sleep at the start of the 4th quarter when the Gators had a 42-7 lead*
*checking online local sports page*
*whew*
We did it.
SEC Championship, here we come...
...we still need to win out for any hope of a National Championship shot...

Seriously, you didn't think Vandy would overcome a 35 point lead in the 4th quarter, did you?
I'm pulling for Alabama.

Former Raiders head Coach
Lane Kiffin will be the new head coach of the Vols. His father,
Monte Kiffin, will be the defensive coordinator.

Hmm...
I know nothing about coaches, but Hyperception's comment on hearing about Lane Kiffen.
"hmm...not such a good year with the Raiders. I see him more as a transitional coach after the Fulmer era."
What do you think, dlb?

I don't think he had a fair shake as Raiders coach, but IMO he's still unproven.

SBG - what's the story behind Tuberville's resignation? Why is Auburn buying out his contract, since he wasn't fired?

I think that it was a mutual parting of the ways, certain board of trustees members have been trying to run Tub off since 2003. Tubberville is going to remain at Auburn or the immediate future and says that he is looking forward to spending more time with his family.

The announcers seemed surprised that the Gators won.....it's another case of the media being surprised that all the hype they generated was merely hype.

Even UF's student run paper
The Alligator gave the advantage to 'Bama before the game based on statistics of offense, defense, special teams, etc. I think there were five categories they compared, and 'Bama had the advantage in three of them.
dlb, how was your evening watching the game? Any problems from Florida fans?

Yeah, polls are finally out!
GATORS #1 in the AP and #2 in the Coaches.
I can't imagine BCS not having us in the title game...
