Hope you feel better Safetyjedi. Sea, I used to have a punching bag in the basement and I loved it. There's a recent pic of me in the Summonsing if that helps.

I am headed to an impromptu beach bbq. Should be fun.

Feel better immediately, safetyjedi!

Have fun at the bbq, Jenn!

I'm spending today working on edits to the NaNo novel -- even tho there's a pile of dirty dishes in the sink, and both a knitting project and "Dust of Dreams" calling to me from the comfy couch.... Hoping to get it done today, but we'll see. It took me several hours to rewrite the legend in the first chapter...

After the wettest winter since 1954, I'm looking forward to warmer, drier weather - one day until Spring!!

Really?

The Autumnal Equinox/First Day of Fall for us is on the 21st of September. The Spring Equinox/First Day of Spring is not on the same day in the southern hemisphere?

1st day of Spring is 1st September for us.

I have never known that about 21st 8O (I'm amazed how little I know  )

The Vernal Equinox is on the same day here as the Autumnal Equinox is there, but the first day of Spring for us is tomorrow.

Besides, since the equinoxes are half way between the longest and shortest days of the year, should they not represent the middle of their respective seasons?

I've always thought that would make sense, but here the seasons start on the equinoxes and solstices.

I'm given to understand that we have two dates for these boundaries. The tradition is the 20th/21st; the Meteorological Office, however, decrees that the change occurs on the 1st.

Yup, the weather guy on the radio here this morning observed that tomorrow is the first day of meteorological fall.

And it feels like fall here today. This has been the weirdest summer ever for DC, weather-wise, at least for me. I can't believe I took a two-mile walk this morning, on the last day of August, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, and didn't die of heat prostration. 8O Not that I'm complaining!

This sucks...
No job yet and now I have a cold.
What did I ever do to deserve this?
Maybe if I donate my WGDs, this spell can be broken.

Well, I'll be happy if this sucky virus I've had for who knows how long would just go away. I feel a bit better for a day or two and then I'm floored again. Yesterday was a doozy. Felt like someone had thumped me with a baseball bat. Anyway, feeling a bit better now. Hopefully that's the end of it.

Twas a nice sunny day today for the 1st day of spring! And tomorrow is supposed to be a scorcher! Well, maybe not a scorcher, but "lengthy sunny periods" which is good enough for me.

For the first day of spring, today sure felt like summer. And tomorrow, they're predicting a high of 34! 8O
