My mum knows an old lady whose middle name, given to the first born daughter of each generation, is Pilbeam.

Now THAT, is different. My sister however, has given each one of her children, and she has 4, 3-4 names, not including their surname. Granted, the names are beautiful, and one is even named after me, but I still find it an unusual custom.

Contrary to Tom I have an almost obsessive love of fishing.

One of my grandmothers had the middle name Mary, and the other one's middle name was Marie, so if I ever have a daughter I will give her some form of that name. If I have more than one daughter, I would give her the middle name I share with my mother. :D

I feel the pain of thefirst's middle name as my middle name is the same.

*shudder*

There was a guy in my class in high school who's middle name was Dahlhauser (pronounced like Doll-house-er), and another guy whose first name was Thaddeus. Thaddeus's middle name was Peter, so he called himself Tip (to avoid being called TP). "Weird" names are probably more common than "normal" ones.

I have a friend whose given name was Daniels Holderby Cortese. She hated it, and uses Daria Cortese as her stage name (she is a professional harpist and vocalist). I believe she may be having her name legally changed as well. I think Daniels is actually charming, and suits an opera singer! :D

To me, that sounds like the name of an aristocrat. A male one. :P

I haven't got any middle names at all, for which I'm profoundly grateful. :D

I'm so tired, I read that as 'astronaut' and moved on thinking it was the lamest joke you've ever made.

To me, that's just cruel and unusual punishment for anyone, male or female.

I failed to make my lamest ever joke? :( I'm in search of two things: the lamest joke, and the most comprehensive pun.

I think I have shared Beorn's full name, and the names I would have given a second boy-child and a girl-child, before. But...mayhaps I best refrain...

I don't remember you telling me that :? Ah well, I know a guy named River, who had a brother named Able, another named Further, and sisters named Kendall and Furrow. Thinking back, we could have all had it a lot worse.

There's a lot of contributing factors I think, but I can't really remember what they are. :P
