Watching Star Trek: Insurrection for the first time.
Dear god, it's bad! I'm only halfway through, and I don't think I have enough beer to make it through the rest!
On a side note, I've never liked the CGI in space movies. Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar, etc, all looked better to me when they were blowing up real models.

Saw De Date last night. Pretty funny, a good date movie, not something I'd buy on disc but I enjoyed it.

*grumble* It seems like nothing's playing right now... seriously, the only movie I think might be decent coming out soon is Kung Fu Panda 2... *grumble*

Battle: LA, Red Riding Hood, and Rango are all supposed to be fun if you don't take them seriously.
The Adjustment Bureau and Unknown look intriguing, but it all hinges on execution... they could be great, or they could suck.
The King's Speech and Black Swan are both still in many theatres, as is The Fighter and True Grit.
I need more friends to go to the movies with, I hate going alone and I wanted to see some of these.

Me and dad saw Sucker Punch today! For some reason my daughter was kicking me through Rango. Weird.

Well...
Atlas Shrugged Part I will be coming out on 15 April--how ironic is that?
and
The Big Bang, starring Antonio Banderas and Sam Elliott, is coming out on 13 May. It fits in the "grizzled detective" section of film noir, complete with a missing girl, a scientist, and nasty hit men.

Watched Domino last weekend---what a hoot! Now one of my closet favs! Kiera rocked, Édgar Ramírez very good (good eye candy for the ladies) Good or bad I make it a point to try to see every movie Mickey Rourke has ever made. He was pretty standard for his role, but what revolved around him was whacked--like Dog the Bounty Hunter meets Pulp Fiction meets Oceans Eleven. KILLER soundtrack! Absolutely! I mean it, am looking for it as we speak!

I've not watched it yet, but I understand Tom Waits is in it, and I make a point to watch all Tom Waits movies. So I'm looking forward to it.

Waits character is brief, but absolutely awesome--also a Waits song on the soundtrack (also has a song by the real Domino's band)

There's a french film showing on FilmFour right now, A Town Called Panic. It's claymation, and it is ridiculous. Pretty damn funny.
Judging by the style, it's also the basis/origin of the Cravendale milk adverts that've been showing lately.

A bizarre day for films: went to cinema with gf to see 'The Help' and then Film4 tonight showed 'District 13:Ultimatum'. Two fantastic films but it'd be tough to pick 2 films so totally different if given such a challenge

Indeed. Publicised as action/horror, but despite a few scenes of that it's much more about building a snapshot of the world after this event, full of beautiful images of the wreckage juxtaposed against the mexican countryside. And of course it's a love story about two damaged people who are heading back to a life they're not happy with but haven't really admitted to it yet.

As a long time The Borrowers fan, I'm wondering how the Miyazaki "Secret World of Arietty" is. Has anyone seen it?
