The first dungeon there is fun, if it doesn't kill your FPS. It is also a very short dungeon; a good group can run it in under an hour. Good loot and quest rewards, and fairly easy until the last boss. The last boss is a dragon. It helps to have a tank who knows how to turn the dragon so it isn't breathing fire at the rest of the party. I was in a party once where the tank couldn't figure out how to do that, and the rest of the people simply didn't get the concept of moving out of the way when a dragon is breathing fire at them. Kind of like those slimes in Maraudon that poison the area when they die. There's always that one person standing in the middle of a toxic green cloud, wondering why their life is dropping. That party wiped five times, then gave up. Most of the time it's a lot easier than that.

Yeah, I think I read about that one--you have to strafe when tanking him because the flame causes an AoE burn effect, right?

Something like that... I don't want to give bad advice - it's been a long time since I was last there and they could have changed things. From what I recall it was more of a 180-degree AoE from the front. Difficult to tank, difficult on the healer because the tank needs a lot of healing, and if everyone else is taking fire damage it gets ugly fast.

Doesn't affect you, but one good change since the last time I was there is that pets that don't have aggro (and pets absolutely should not have aggro there) now attack from behind. I had to keep my cat on passive or she would run and stand right in the path of fire.

I have the Dire Maul part of my Paladin quests. But I can't do it until I raise 50g for horse feed.

Huh. Turns out I've finished all but two of the quests in Hellfire Peninsula. (Those two are both group quests, and one of them's very tough.)

(I also have my horse-feed. Dire Maul, here I come.)

I can team up with you on those group quests - I don't think Nixxe has them yet but I am going to get some questing done there today.

AFTER I hit Exalted with SSO. A little behind on my goal, but I only need about 2,500 more rep.

[edit] Mission accomplished! I ran straight to the SSO quartermaster to purchase my new necklace. She cheered my new status, then warned me not to loiter. Frakking blood elves. :P

Ok, the guild now has an official message board. Check it out.

I'm sure there will still be some tweaks that need to be made, so go ahead and register and help me test it out. Murrin's also an admin, so if you need anything and I'm not on...

We're trying to find and install some WoW-specific php mods, so there may be some cool stuff in store.

I'm still on the gathering parts, but not looking forward to trying to find a Scholo party.

It'll work out.

I ran Gnomer today, and did all the quests, and I'm still 3000 rep away from Exalted with Gnomeregan. Took bloody ages, too.
(To be fair, that's 1000-2000 rep closer than I was before.)

Trying for one of their mounts?

I want one, but they don't make them in my size. My knees would drag on the ground. They should make an engineering land mount.

There are some quests that give rep across all the Alliance factions. Can't think of any specific ones at the moment, but I will do some research later. (Early morning tomorrow, so you'll probably beat me to it.)

Good luck!

people on thottbot say donating runecloth is one of the best ways to gain rep. But you don't get much for each donation, so it could take you a long time. Also, if you're exalted with any faction, doing quests for that faction apparently gives you a little reputation with some of the other factions.
