Sheeet! David the Gnome. Swift the Fox! Watched that show religiously as a kid. Only thing I see is an overpriced VHS copy on Amazon.
There's also the book that inspired the show (at least, a friend said it was the major inspiration).

Now the book I have, it's amazing. I mean, It makes me think that there really are some Gnomes in my backyard.
Time to buy a live-capture trap, so I can get his pot of gold.

To the contrary. . . I think I have all the power in this situation. I know what you want to know, but choose not to tell. And no matter what names you call me, I won't corrupt your young mind.

Let me know if that works - I've got an office full of gremlins. I don't think they have gold, but they're eating all my pens.

My mother in law had surgery today to remove a large portion of her colon that was seriously infected due to diverticulitis. Thankfully they were able to leave her with enough to function normally. If all goes as predicted she will spend about 3 days in ICU followed by two days in a room, she should come home sunday. The doctor told us that she must have been in quite a bit of pain for some time, I suppose she did not go to the doctor sooner out of fear.

I get plenty of rest, and eat fine. What I cannot avoid is working 4 feet away from the idiot who infected me. Fortunately, she finally succumbed to the disease herself, so at least I don't have to deal with her for the rest of the week. Also, thanks to the mother hen who tried to make me stay home today; as most people here already know, I hate being coddled, I hate being sick, and I hate being told what to do.

Kind of bad.
I don't feel ill or depressed or anything, but I'm proof-reading an acquaintance's novel (I haven't known him long enough to call him a friend) and giving him regular feedback. Mostly it's a tweak here and there - I liked this, you could try rewording that....that kind of thing.
But I just emailed him the latest set of feedback, in which I had to really slam one of the major scenes. I know it can be painful to receive harsh criticism of something you've worked hard on, but I wouldn't be doing him any favours by not mentioning it. He hopes to submit the novel for publication, and it's better that problems are picked up now, rather than when the editor/publisher/whoever looks at it.
I know the criticism needed to be made, but I still feel bad about it.
