Finished the audiobook of Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, and now I'm about to start Goldenhand by Garth Nix.

Hahaha, Tigana has a special place for me...it took me about 10 years to read it. I could never get past the first 100 pages.
When I eventually did, I loved the rest of the book, but those first 100 pages were awful.

I like a book that grabs you right off the bat .. I weary if it is sluggish ..

It's probably easier to get through stuff on audio, as long as the narrator is good. I can't say I found them all that bad.
I thought Tigana was a good book, but there are a number of small things in there - particularly relating to sex, but not just that - which give me reservations.

Honestly can't remember it that well, and due to my difficulties, I've never dared attempt a re-read.
On another topic, I'm really surprised that they're not making a TV series out of these "Folly" books (the series I'm re-reading) yet. Think it would work brilliantly. (I wouldn't watch it, but I'm sure it would be successful.)

Not even close. Ben Aaronovitch, British police procedural / magical realism. Funny too.

Works pretty well.
Read
Moon Over Soho this weekend, now I'm on
Whispers Underground. Guess I'll be reading the whole series.

Followed by:
The Broken God
The Wild
War in Heaven
The Lighthouse
The Silver Sword
The Lord of Lies
Black Jade
The Diamond Warriors
So that's pretty much my medium term reading plans sorted
Speaking of Zindell, has anyone read
The Idiot Gods - the relatively recent David Zindell book? Apparently it's part of a new trilogy.
