I still very rarely drink coffee, but I do drink quite a bit of tea. Try to stick to Rooibos (no caffeine) though. Normal tea has more caffeine than instand coffee.

Wife drinks Rooibos, don't really like it myself. Strong coffee for me, and Irn-Bru for a soft drink.
Feeling happier than I was this morning - clutch cable snapped in wifes car, so got a new cable from the auto parts shop and tried to fit it before work today (should have been a 20 minute job) only to find that the shop had given me the wrong cable
Phoned the guy at the shop, and he said he'd drop off the right cable later today. So got home from work tonight, cable is there, fit it to the car in 10 mins and away we go

"Irn-Bru - made in Scotland, from girders."

I must say Phantasm that I'd love to hear you pronounce Rooibos.

(Especially if your scots is broad...

*chews on fingernails* I'm in fanfic withdrawl. House-sitting with no internet access, and can't read fic at work. Need my John/Rodney fix. Argh! I am totally gonna blow Saturday and Sunday nights catching up. So much for sleeping...

I feel disappointed.
The only reason I've been keeping my job is because the extra overtime I work everyday makes the paychecks a little less funny. Well, now they cut my hours so I'm working normal people time. There's officially no reason to not find a new job now. In fact, I SHOULD try to find a new one, because I needed the extra money for school.
Damn it. It was so easy, too...

I doubt a theater would pay me enough

Thinking about moving to Virginia.
Do we have any watchers in Virginia?

I believe we have several Watchers in VA. There are also quite a few Watchers next door in MD.

MAYBE potential job in VA, though. Although I'm really just digging the idea of picking up and moving. Anywhere. But the potential job also has the potential of giving me enough of a bonus when I start that I could pay my half of the rest of the year's lease. That's pretty important. I don't know if I want to ride this job out till the end of the year...

If you hate that much, I'd just put in my Two Weeks and get the hell out.

Rent means that I keep my job unless I have another

And it's not THAT bad- it's just an insult to my intelligence and boring.

Ahhh.
Well, it sounds tolerable. At least untill something else better comes up. And if do go, I'll hold the Washington fort!

I'm stressed the frack out.
Last test of the semester on Friday over OLD ENGLISH!
I have to relearn a semester's worth of grammar, pronunciation, and vocab. Nevermind (re)read Beowulf and the Canterbury Tales and do some hardcore analyizing.
It's our only grade for the class.
I'm doomed. Completely and totally doomed.
Plus I have to finish packing and say teary goodbyes to senior friends. Blauuuughhhh...

Yeah, that whole "supporting yourself" thing really stinks.
Wadds, where in VA are you thinking about? I've lived in the DC area and in Norfolk, and Batty's going to school in Roanoke. We can talk at Elohimfest....

Fairfax, Ali. But it's just an idea. For now I'm considering being a server on the weekends. I have another 6 months on my lease. Rent IS a bugger. Living on the streets would be so much more cost effective...
Can anyone who's worked in the food industry tell me if it's possible to get a job as a server in a decent place (not like OOH uber fancy or anything, but... not Denny's) without starting at something like a Denny's first?
Oh! And good luck Fairy!! The hardest part of school for me was saying good bye to friends

But you'll be ok!

If you're willing to do cocktail waitressing, Wadds, my experience is that they're willing to hire anyone who looks hot in the required outfit.
At more upscale places, my experience is they will hire non-experienced, but start them as either a busser, or as a team runner (server who brings the food out, but doesn't take orders or collect payement).

I don't have the... err... bust, I suppose, to look hot in a waitress outfit

But I'll take a look at the options. That seems a little more my speed. Thanks doll!

Virginia's not quite close enough to Tampa, but it's a fine start. I hope you find the right job, but in the meantime, I'm sure Cail and I will chip in to buy any pics of you in a waitress (or french maid) uniform.....
