Sounds don't seem to make their way into my dreams as much as temperatures. If I'm cold, I dream about being in big, empty, underheated rooms.

I sleep better if I'm a little bit cold, but if I wake up too hot, I'm really irritable
Has anyone seen my keys?

I didn't get a chance to mention it yesterday, but I dreamed about time travel on Tuesday night! I dreamed that my friend Nathan and I got sent to the future, and while we were there he found out that his mother dies the day after we had left to go into the future. So the main part of the dream happened when we returned to the present. We both knew that there was nothing we could do to save his mother without causing terrible things to happen. So I spent the largest part of the dream trying to talk him through the inevitable loss of his mother (whom he couldn't even visit). :?

I dreamt I was trying to save a bunch of baby sea turtles from an indoor ocean that was filled with large, hungry fish. I was treading water near the edge of the ocean, which was very similar to a swimming pool, only murkier and deeper, and scooping baby turtles into a large rubbermaid container. There were hundreds of turtles, and I couldn't save them all. :(

I rarely remember dreams (<1 time per year) and have never had the kind of dream where you dream you wake up, but are still dreaming, but, last night....

I dreamt I was alone in the house, and it was cold and snowy out. (It was). I found a book I had never seen before and started reading it. One of the stories was about a guy very much like me, who was alone in his house on a snowy night. This guy found a book and starting reading a story about a guy alone in a house, who was like him...... These layers continued to build, but it became clear to the guys in the stories, and to me, that there was a thing in the house, stalking him/me. Continually getting closer. But I/we/he couldn't do anything about it, because I/we/he was entranced by the book, and couldn't stop reading it. Getting increasingly scared, I/he jolted myself/himself awake, to find I/he was still reading the book. This happened multiple times, and each time, I thought I was really awake, until I saw the book again. And the thing was getting closer. Finally I did wake up with a yell, and found myself in bed.

I have, as far as I can remember, never been so freaked out by a dream.

I had a dream that felt extremely real. It made me wonder how much of reality is entirely in my mind and how much is shared with others in the waking world. Perhaps it's all just a soup of energy and our heads turns it into straight lines, recognizable forms, etc.

Just before I woke up this morning, I was dreaming about taking the re-certification test for which I have been studying. I have to take this test every 10 years to maintain my certification. It's a big, all-day test, given once a year in July, and covers a LOT of material, and I dreamed I was taking it 4 months too early and hadn't finished studying! 8O

I would probably pass anyway, but it still wasn't a pleasant feeling.

Hmm, I wonder if that's how Descartes got started on his "I think, therefore I am" business....

As long as my intent continues to manipulate reality to my will, I'm happy.

It's when it doesn't work in spite of my best efforts that reality frustrates me. ;)

I've been having nightmarish dreams lately. Disturbing ones. I can't sleep well anymore.

Same here. I think it's the bed I use. I never fully get comfortable. I'm going to be glad when I get my futon in here.

I rarely remember my dreams specifically. But the feelings will stay with me for days. Nightmares especially much so. So I'm trying to get rid of them as soon as possible.

*frowns* Is the cost of good sleep and good dreams the fact that others around me suffer bad sleep and worse dreams?
