Parent in law's 40 wedding anniversary tonight - went to the local fish and chip restaurant for dinner (they're not big on fancy celebrations

) - it was a nice relaxing evening. Bed time now...

Had the moped running for quite a bit this morning and then it conked out while Bloodguard Bob was riding it. Now it won't even start at all. Back to the drawing board. On the plus side, we were out at Julie's and turns out her old Russian neighbors had a Motobecane Mobylette sitting in their garage since their kids were teenagers. It's a 1978 model and red and perfect for Bloodguard Bob so he's gonna buy it and get it running and we are starting a moped club called Ya Mo's Angels. All the yacht rock fans should be chuckling at that name right about now.... So anyone who wants to be as cool as Bloodguard Bob and I should get a moped and move to San Francisco!

I'm also going to have to keep an eye out for one for Lucimay. I hope I can find her one in lime green.

That's awesome. I don't have a driver's license, or I might consider it.

All you need is a learner's permit.

Sweet! Our moped gang is swelling in ranks!

Today I am just glad to be at home! We spent the weekend in Edinburgh and I was dreading the 6hour+ train journey home yesterday. About 90 mins into journey, a very strong smell of burning permeates the train. The train stops. Various frantic running about by staff. The train is broken. Two and a half hours later it limps into next station where we wait for replacement train. Get on replacement but delay means we've missed our last connection from Birmingham. Thankfully after we kick up a fuss and tell a few white lies, train company agrees to pay for minicab to take us home. Get home at 1am, ten hours after leaving Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is fantastic though! Did a ghost tour (not normally my thing but it was very well done, underground Edinburgh is creepy!), did the Castle and was blown away by The Coronation Stone, drank some whiskey, & had a ball at our friend's wedding incl Ceili dancing which I'd never done before but want to do again!

I feel pretty good today. Had some frustrating moments after my son knocked a glass container off my bathroom vanity and I had to let the kids cry (they were "arguing" over a toy) while I vaccumed up the mess. Apart form that, though, today's been going pretty well. Yesterday I had a successful casual party for my husband's birthday (we played "Apples to Apples," GREAT game!), so I feel good about that!

Goood thoughts for Murrin as I head off for my own interview today. Last week's preliminary went well; this could be the one I've been looking for since April.
