Yeah -- what MsMary said, Muffin.
Tomorrow, Travelin' Guy goes on vacation for a week. Then the following week, he's...wait for it...traveling.
In other news, how the hell did it get to be March 20th?!? I'm sure it was February just a minute ago....

You slept in too long.
The real news is that your cats did not wake you up or try to eat you.

Back to the vet in a couple of hours, in the sincere hope that I will be able to release my poor captive.

There's a solar eclipse happening right now, somewhere behind all of these clouds...

Saw it where I am in the south of Ireland. There was a fair amount of cloud, but we got a good view of it through the gaps and thin parts. We viewed it through a welder's mask and where we are the sun was over 80% eclipsed. It got drak and cold and at its peak the birds stopped singing for about ten minutes. Kind of eerie!

Sort of saw it here in Lincoln. I made a hole in a piece of card as per instructions but couldn't get it lined up, so I had a quick glimpse. The sun was quite unclouded but it did get "drak"!

That's great you both got to experience this solar eclipse, Uss. and Iolanthe! I find eclipses of the sun to be both neat and creepy.

It was the drak that really got to me!

Sorry U, that comes of doing too much proof reading. I notice you didn't spot my mistake - I just edited my post so that it made sense.

Eclipse wasn't viewable here, though the weather was too manky even if it had been technically viable. For the record, manky is worse than drak.
I'm jealous, Sarge. Been several years since I saw Rush. Enjoy the show!

Sorus - I will. not sure Julie is going to. she really does not like them.
yesterday we stopped at a building in Houston that I have been wanting to for years. the Raven Tower. there were some workers there who let us in. it was awesome. will dedicate a thread to that and a local building when I have more time.

Hi everyone.
Just got back from Costa Rica. There was no access to the Watch for some reason.
I had some medical stuff done that did not go as well as hoped and had complications. I was very well taken care of but had to leave due to the rising cost of the whole thing.
So I'm home, snuggled in my big chair and working on 'it'. Sorry to have been out of touch and glad to be back.

Sorry, lorin. Get better!
Snuggling with my daughter. All is right with the world. My little niece keeps running in and out of the room. Sooner or later, though, I'm going to have to go out and deal with my FIL, who keeps telling everyone that he's not crazy.

That's never a good sign, Deer.

Are you still in the States?
This morning, I missed my usual bus by about a minute

, so I had to wait for another bus and then take the Metro to work. While waiting for the train, I stepped in a wad of neon-blue gum, and then stepped on the hem of my pants (they're a little long...). And I was a half-hour late to work, but I don't think anybody noticed since: a) Travelin' Guy is on vacation this week; b) the other partner I work for is in New York; and c) I've got my work e-mail on my phone, so I was able to field stuff on my way in.
The day has been a little better since then...
