8O Well, I've heard that dog saliva is good for healing cuts. I wonder if it could be a preventative for sinus infections.... If so, you're set for life, Jenn!

I wish that were so. He slips me the tongue every once in a while too and has hit the back of my throat a few times which of course gags me. He's a kisser, that Moose. :P

I couldn't agree with you more! Just the thought of an animal's tongue near my face makes me gag!

Not really. Actually not at all. I've only met three dogs that I liked, and that was because they knew enough to stay away from me unless invited, and when I did choose to pet them they didn't make a mess all over me (fur, drool, etc.). I like cats even less. Most cats and dogs do not understand my need for personal space and cleanliness (which is a pet peeve of mine).

Dog spit and cat spit is actually much much cleaner than human spit. Dogs show affection and learn pack placement through sniffing, licking and nipping exercises. When Moose gets out of line totally I throw him down and hold him down with my teeth around his throat. Luckily this doesn't happen all that often but because of the nature of city life he gets mixed messages and has to be brought back to bear. I should not let him proceed me on stairs or through doors or even when walking but I have to hold the building gate in order to get in so he has to go first which gives him faux alpha status. I am also somewhat lax about the walking one step behind me rule since he's so small and I am afraid of someone trodding on him like a spaced out crack head so I try to get him to walk directly beside me. I also need to be able to monitor him for "street treats" which are food stuffs that have been dropped. Therefore I need to keep him in sight at all times. Most of the time I just have to growl but every once in a while it's dominance time. This usually results in a mouth full of dog hair and about a week of Moose performing submissive apology bathing on my hands.

when sonny gets out of hand i have to grab him either around his nose or the back of his neck. he then gets submissive. most of the time if you look at him askew he gets upset. he is such a baby sometimes. he's at the vets this weekend for cleaning and maintainance. i miss my boy. :(

People who are miserable at the same time you are, so you can't get attention or consolation from them, and just have to sit there miserable together.

When I was in my 20's, I had a leather jacket, and aTOMiC had some fake wannabe leather jacket. But whenever we went somewhere, all I heard was people saying "Wow, nice jacket. Is it leather?" to Tom....my jacket never got noticed. Now that Obama's in office, I expect that heinous situation to be remedied.
