For a thread about drift, this thread really stays on-topic too much, if you ask me!
With that as a preface... here's a quote that amused me this morning; it sounds almost like something that you could find in the Chrons,
except that it's about calculus.
Robert Strichartz, in 'The Way of Analysis' wrote:During the eighteenth century the calculus was fashioned into a tool of bold computational power and applied to diverse problems of practical and theoretical interest.
And then later in the preface, the author says:
This book was written to be read-- not deciphered. If I have perhaps coddled the students too much, I'm sure they won't complain about that!

Ha!
Did you read the first page? It's a thread I started when I was
really bored.

Man, it looks as though I'm the only one here right now. There's a line of MsMary last responses.

I was theorizing last night that Sgt Null's random, dada posts are actually a subterfuge. Really, he has some kind of top secret intel encoded within it. Hidden in plain sight, as they say. He communicates this intel to seemingly innocent civvies embedded in sensitive locations. After all, what could be more innocuous and of less interest to surveillance than browsing a Fantasy geek site? Kudos, Sarge. The cool points just went off the scale.
