Damm lurch-had to flashback to 1973 to catch that reference! 8O

Contrary to the 110s in lurch's backyard and the 98 here today the forecast in Denver over the coming weekend is in the high eighties-that's not too bad-remember, especially our international guests, that high desert heat is not humid and sweaty--you'll just be prone to dehydrate unless you drink plenty of water. You need to apply sunscreen if you plan to be outside for over a half hour. Also remember, especially Cjr-that you'll be flying from almost below sea level to a mile high-so take it easy and sit down an breathe for a while after you deplane.

No sorry there are no (a subject raised at the Hangar) fireflies in the Rockies-you will be, however, subjected to some of the most beautiful mountains in the world-a side trip to Leadville or Vail will blow your mind. It cools down very nicely around eight or nine-so late evenings at the pool, or beach will be very nice.

Albuquerque is also a mile high and ali, magic and Menolly have survived amiably at these heights and temps before. Jenn has as has Luci. Cjr is the only one I worry about-Sea will be constantly climbing upwards so should adjust nicely. A mile high is okay but if someone, probably me, suggests booking off to Leadville just beware of possible altitude sickness.

Much thanks, Navigator. I knew none of that.
(hence my question about fireflies on the Hangar)

Ooo...the excitement builds...

Good advice about the altitude, danlo. Yes yes, drink lotsa water -- it helps a lot.

Glad everybody made it back from SF okay!

Hokay. My plans have definitely changed, as the Chicago-to-Denver train is cancelled TFN (that's "till further notice" ;) ). I'm still going to take the train to Chicago; then flying out of O'Hare at 6:40pm, American flight 1513, arriving Denver 8:20pm Thursday. I'm still renting a car.

Is anyone still planning to be in town by Thursday night? Anywhere I can borrow some floor space that night for my sleeping bag? If not, I can get a hotel room near the airport.

I am soooo annoyed by all of this -- I can't *tell* you how tired I am of rebooking vacation travel this year! -- but at least I don't live in Iowa and haven't been forced out of my former-home-that's-now-a-mudhole-and-mold-fest. IOW, I'm trying to keep this in perspective.... </whine>

I've getting there around 6pm. The camping spot is still reserved for Thursday---I didn't cancel it 8) So call me and I'll come to the site and vouch that I'm me (or somebody :screwy: )---picking up Jenn and Cjr around 8-8:30-so we can hook up at the airport and all drive to the campsite and part ways there.

Third time's the charm, maybe?

You'll also get an extra night 'fest time. Makes the hassle and expense worth it, eh?

After dinner at Pier 39, when we were taking pictures of the seals. Those didn't turn out as good.

Just dropped Tam and Elora off at the airport. My contractor is coming at 8:30 to help me move all the furniture out of storage so they can take the unit back Tues. I'm going to go back to bed to get another hour and 1/2 sleep-hopefully I'll hit the road at 10 or 11 after I drop Jojo off at the kennel. Then check in to the campground and take a nap at the motel before I pickup Jenn and Cjr and hook up with ali. 8)
