Well, I've had a rough time of it recently. Been laid up with nasty viral infections due to compromises in my immune system from the chemo treatments. I'll spare you all the details, not pleasant. I'm on the mend tho and doing a bit better now all things considered. :)

And Danlo, that's horrible what happened to you!! I honestly don't understand what drives some people. I'm very happy that you and the baby are safe. HUGGLESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS |G

Hang in there Furls--you know I love you! Tam writes: I know this has got to be miserable on top of everything else, so take good care of yourself, sending lots of hugs and kisses.

About my thing--I'm recovered--they're pretty sure this guys a Meth-head, I get the police report on Monday and then I'll press charges against him. Bet the idiot never thought someone who have the conjones to stand up to his BS--he's a menace to society-his crap has to stop.

Feel better, Furls. My mom finished up her chemo about four months ago, and she went through a long bout with pneumonia and a couple other nasty viruses before her immune system kicked back into gear.

Now she feels great and has hair again!

I don't worry about you, because if anyone has ten guardian angels with their wings wrapped around them, YOU do.

(((Furls)))

Danlo, good for you for not being intimidated. If the good don't stand up against the darkness, the darkness will overpower us all.

Meth is a hideous drug. It will kill that boy if he doesn't get off it. First it will squeeze every drop of light, joy, and goodness from his life (if it hasn't already). Perhaps if he goes to prison, he will get cleaned out and sobered up. And perhaps you will have saved his life as well.

Doubtful, I'm sad to say, but it COULD happen.

(((Danlo)))

Don't worry, Furls; everybody gets what's coming to them. Unless, of course, they ship it UPS. Then they get what's coming to them six days late. And broken.

Good for you, dAN. Working sucks! Unless it doesn't. Good luck!

And Furls, nasty bugs are rotten, but you'll kick their butts, I just know it! :D

My jobsearch update--I've made it through an hour-long phone interview, an hour-and-a-half long in-person interview, and am in the process of setting up the second in-person interview, which will include a chat with the President of the company. 8O

Even though I feel very tired, and my allergies/asthma are bad today, I am feeling relaxed and happy. Since I work Sunday through Thursday, I don't have to go to work today. 8) This time next week I will be camping on the beach. This time two weeks from now, I will be with Danlo and Fisty. :D 8)

And my big fluffy cat Tigger is lying down on my feet and licking my toes with his raspy tongue.

Happy. I had happy news from a good friend, and a special compliment from an author.

Flustered. New stuff to worry about.

Had a very productive Westercon (July long weekend), met a lot of publishing people; this past Friday I had coffee with the head honcho of Edge Books and gave him one of the manuscripts that have been sitting on another editor's desk gathering dust for nearly three years. Since Edge is a small press, the understanding is that the other editor will have the option to make a counter-offer if Edge wants to buy the book, and I'll let him have it if the offer is substantially higher. But I think he'll pass anyway.

Also, I'm trying to put together a podcast of an abridgement of the same book, and rather intimidated by the size of the task. (Plus I hate listening to recordings of my own voice.) Jitters, jitters.

Apart from that, just very lonely. But I've long since got used to that.

I feel victorious :D

Just got back from my divisional swim meet... I ended up with 3 firsts of 3 races (50, 100, and 400 meter freestyle) and 2 pool records in the 100 and 400. The 50 I only won by .01 of a second. My dad says he knew I won that race even before the results were up... liar.

Even better than the blue ribbons though, was getting my best times of the year, and in the case of the 400, my best time ever. :D

WAY TO GO!!!

I know how physically demanding swimming is.
It does take a lot out of you when racing against the clock or opponent.

(Can we call you "Froggie" now? Nawww, just kidding. ;)

All the best with that! Will be thinking of you.
